Panasonic has announced the start of American sales of LED-backlit LCD TVs of DT50 series. The DT50 is the latest addition to the VIERA Smart TV line-up, which embodies the five pillars of smart TV: picture quality, networking, easy operation, stylish design, and eco-friendliness. DT50 support Full HD 3D progressive scan technology, which allows you to transmit high-resolution 3D video without changing and losing vertical resolution quality. IPS LED LCD panel provides fast response, resulting in clear and colorful 3D images with minimal double outline effect.

The viewer gets maximum enjoyment when watching sports programs, as well as dynamic scenes in movies. The image literally comes to life on the screen thanks to 16-zone screen backlighting control technology coupled with a new light filter and Clear Panel Pro technology. Vivid Color Creation recognizes the faces of people in the frame and corrects flesh tones to make them look more natural. In turn, the Web Smoother function enhances the clarity of movies viewed online and evens out the video image.
The DT50 comes with an IPS panel which offers a wide viewing angle of 178⁰ with little variation in horizontal and vertical contrast compared to the established VA screens. 24p Smoother analyzes each frame and reproduces 96 frames instead of the source’s original 24, smoothening the picture considerably.
The DT50’s eight compact speaker system delivers high quality sound with a wide frequency range. Built-in ultra-flat subwoofer only 11mm thick makes bass sound dense and rich. At the same time, Panasonic’s original sound field compensation technology ensures highly accurate localization of sound images.
NETWORKING FEATURES
The IPS LED TVs of DT50 series offer the widest networking features: Social Networking TV, access to VIERA Connect Market and Wi-Fi. VIERA Connect cloud-based internet service and a built-in web browser provide easy access to online content and apps.
Now you can watch your favorite movies and TV programs, while chatting with friends and family via a popular social networking feed. The VKontakte application is available exclusively on Panasonic TVs.
Wi-Fi and DLNA connectivity allow the DT50 models to easily connect to your home network, communicate with other devices in the house and share content with mobile devices using the VIERA Remote App.
With four HDMI ports and three USB ports. The built-in media player supports a wide variety of music, photo and video formats, making it possible to work with media content on the TV screen in Full HD.
Eco-Technology
All VIERA Smart TVs are energy efficient, offer long life, and are manufactured using environmentally friendly materials.
Applying new liquid crystal materials with higher light transmission and LED backlight combined with energy-saving functions reduces power consumption by 25%. DT50 standby automatically after 2 hours of inactivity.
Eco mode detects ambient light intensity and adjusts picture brightness. When you power off the TV, all connected components are also turned off.
