Technically, the new TG-850 is not the oldest, most powerful and sturdy member of the Tough series. The place is still occupied by TG-2. But due to unique features, the newcomer may be more appealing.

16 Megapixel 25-600 mm 24x 3ā³ NEW
Itās very important for an underwater camera to have the widest lens possible, because when youāre in water its true angle of view gets noticeably smaller. So the TG-850ās zoom, with an equivalent focal length starting at 21mm, is not only unique, but very useful. This is also the first camera of its kind to offer a tiltable display. It can be flipped 180 degrees for self-portraits, shooting from a lower angle. But if you want to shoot with your arms outstretched upwards, the screen wonāt help you. Unless a special flash drive with built-in Wi-Fi module can be inserted into the camera, in which case you can compose the picture on the smartphone screen.
The rest of the features and capabilities are pretty average. The 16 MP sensor is fast enough for the camera to shoot at 7 fps in full resolution and 60 fps in reduced resolution. Thereās an interval shooting mode and 1080@60p video recording.
How does the Olympus TG-850 compact camera perform in low light conditions? Can it capture clear and detailed images without much noise in darker environments?
