New compact and rugged Canon ML-105 EF darkroom camera

Canon has announced a powerful 2.07MP ML-105 EF all-in-one camera that lets you shoot video in the dark. The ML-105 EF offers the same low-light performance as the successful Emmy Award-winning ME20F-SH, but in a smaller, lighter body – important for long-duration surveillance. The new camera’s rugged, shockproof exterior is protected against dust and moisture, so the ML-105 EF can be used in extreme weather conditions.

Shooting even in low light

Maximum sensitivity of the novelty is more than 4 million ISO – which gives the possibility of shooting at an illumination below 0.0005 lux. Full frame 35 mm CMOS sensor with 2.07 Mpix resolution captures clear, low-noise images even in total darkness. All of this means confident night photography and sharp images when observing wildlife or other subjects over long periods of time.

Compact and robust

The ML-105 EF measures 76 x 76 x 112 mm and weighs only 800 grams. A handy handheld solution that can be mounted in a drone or vehicle, giving you plenty of opportunity for dynamic shooting from a variety of angles. 50% smaller and 30% lighter than the popular ME20F-SH. Waterproof and dustproof, it can be used in arid desert or very rainy environments and has a temperature range from extreme -20 °C to over +50 °C. In addition the camera is vibration and shock resistant and the robust ODU connectors allow for easy disconnection of cables so you can quickly reassemble the camera after shooting.

Flexibility

With an EF mount you can easily integrate the ML-105 EF into your standard workflow and use a range of compatible lenses to suit your needs. Also supports Canon EF super-telephoto lenses – Capture subjects hundreds of metres away, even in low light. The versatile ML-105 EF is compatible with third-party filters, including infrared, bandpass and neutral filters, ensuring consistent high image quality in all conditions. Most popular video output is SDI, for easy integration into existing infrastructure.

Model Range

In addition to the ML-105 EF, the ML-100 EF, ML-100 M58 and ML-105 M58, three other lightweight, all-in-one cameras will join the lineup. For increased mobility, all models are smaller than the award-winning ME20F-SH. The ML-100 EF and ML-100 M58 are equipped with the CoaXPress universal cable and Canon EF and General M58 mounts respectively. The ML-105 M58 is equipped with an SDI connector and General M58 mount.
