New Acer products at BETT 2018

Acer unveiled new notebook and nettop models that run Chrome OS at the BETT 2018 education show in London: the Acer Chromebook Spin 11, Chromebook 11 C732 and Chromebox CXI3. All three novelties are positioned as the devices for education.

The new Acer Chromebook 11 C732 features many of the same features as its current counterparts in the much more expensive segment, and the Chromebook Spin 11 Transformer continues the tradition of the popular Chromebook R 11, which has won numerous awards for design, performance and a wide range of useful featuresā€.

The Acer Chromebook Spin 11 Transformer Laptop is designed for families and students who want to take advantage of Chrome OS. It features a stylish design with the ability to work in one of four modes, the presence of two USB 3 ports.1

Type-C for charging external devices and connecting to monitors, as well as the battery, which is enough for a whole day of study. Google Playā„¢ app store, available out-of-the-box, lets you download and install any Android app, 11.6-inch IPS panel HD touchscreen supports WacomĀ® EMR stylus so students can take notes, draw and manipulate applications, and wide-angle webcam is great for webinars or video conferencing.

The Chromebook Spin 11 looks stylish, weighs only 1.25 kg, and easily fits in a backpack or briefcase. Notebook can be equipped with IntelĀ® PentiumĀ® N4200 or IntelĀ® CeleronĀ® N3450 quad-core processor or IntelĀ® CeleronĀ® N3350 dual-core. Thereā€™s 4 or 8GB of RAM and 32 or 64GB of onboard solid state storage. Laptop features USB 3 ports to connect external devices.0, Bluetooth 4 support.2 and a microSD card reader. Chrome OS allows multiple family members to share a Chromebook and access their files from the comfort of their Google account.

Chromebook 11 C732

Acer Chromebook 11 C732 is a classic education notebook, protected against drops and moisture. In addition to the plain-screen version, the Chromebook 11 C732T will be available with a touchscreen, as well as configurations with 4G LTE support. The IP41 protection standard means that there are no holes or slots larger than 1 mm in its body, so the laptop is not only protected against drops of moisture, but also against small objects and debris, while MIL-STD 810G and MIL-STD 810F compliance allows it not to fear sand, dust and falls from heights up to 1.22 m. Rugged chassis holds up to 60 kg, reinforced hinges easily handle the rigors of everyday study and keyboard shortcuts are recessed so theyā€™re nearly impossible to remove. Any liquid spilled on the keyboard is drained by special channels and comes out through the holes in the bottom of the case.

The Chromebook 11 C732 features silent, passive cooling that wonā€™t buzz students in the classroom or huddle room, delivers up to 12 hours on a single battery charge, and comes with a high-performance IntelĀ® CeleronĀ® N3450 quad-core processor.

Like all Chromebooks, the novelty supports downloading apps from Google Play store. There will be a version with 11.6-inch IPS-screen and versions with touch-screen IPS- or TN-screens with 1366Ɨ768 resolution. For group work, the laptop screen can be rotated 180 degrees and laid out horizontally on the table. For connecting to external devices, the Chromebook 11 C732 has USB 3 ports.1 Type-C, USB 3.0, card reader and support for Bluetooth 4.2, and for Internet access, a 2Ɨ2 MIMO 802 Wi-Fi module.11ac and in some configurations built-in 4G LTE modem.

Chromebox CXI3

Acer Chromebox CXI3 is a modern education nettop with support for 8th generation IntelĀ® Coreā„¢ processors, ideal for the computer lab or library. The novelty has plenty of ports for connecting external devices, including one USB 3.1 Type-C, five USB Type-A with USB 3 support.1 and USB 2.0 depends on specific configuration , one HDMI port, one Gigabit Ethernet and a MicroSD card reader. Wireless connection is provided by 2Ɨ2 MIMO 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.2 LE.

The device can be placed on a table on its included stand or placed behind a monitor using a VESA mount. System administrators will be able to install system updates and administer all Chromebox CXI3 nettops remotely via web interface and all student data will be securely stored in Google Drive cloud, which they can access simply by logging in to their account. Like all Chrome OS-based devices, Chromebox CXI3 supports Google Play app store.

Cost and Availability

The Acer Chromebook Spin 11 CP311-1H/CP311-1HN Transformer Notebooks will be available in North America in March, with a retail price of $349 and up, depending on configuration. In EMEA, sales of the new products will start in April 2018 and will cost Acer Chromebook Spin 11 from 379 euros.

Acer Chromebook 11 C732 and touchscreen version C732T will be available for education and commercial customers in North America in March. They will cost from $279.99 and $299.99, respectively. In EMEA, notebooks will be available in April with prices starting from 329 Euros. More information regarding pricing and availability in America will be announced later.
