It’s the P600 and not the P530 that we should be looking at as a follow up to last year’s Coolpix P520. It has both a pivoting screen and Wi-Fi, with the return of the manual focus function, enhanced with contrast border illumination technology while composing the frame.

The replacement of GPS-receiver with wireless data module is quite justified, as P600 can receive geolocation data “by air” from smartphone, and in addition to that it can transmit footage to the web and be controlled remotely.
It seems that the 16 megapixel sensor in combination with the C2 processor performs better than its predecessor with 18 million light-sensitive cells. There is no other explanation for this “downgrade”. What the developers vouch for is that the contrast method of sharpening works more accurately and faster in the new camera than in the younger models. Vibration compensation has become more effective, and shaky images can be corrected even on the move or while shooting, in the course of a car or bus ride. These two applications suggest that the 60x zoom is not just another loud feature, but also a practical tool.
I was thinking of buying the Nikon Coolpix P600 compact camera but I wanted to know more about its performance. Can someone who owns this camera please share their thoughts on its image quality, zoom capabilities, ease of use, and battery life? I would really appreciate hearing your experiences before making a purchase. Thank you!
