Lexand routers: travel and vacation Wi-Fi

Lexand routers are small mobile devices allowing to create a Wi-Fi access point in any place where 3G/4G networks or Ethernet cable connection are available. This sounds complicated, but it’s actually very useful! Impossible to stay aside and try them out.

Computers and Peripherals

Lexand LXR-mini – a little surprise for a big company

About Lexand LXR-mini the manufacturer writes that the device can distribute Wi-Fi from an inserted 3G or 4G modem to 20 users. We were unable to assemble a large group of people for testing we had to make do with five people and ten devices. Everyone tried to catch Wi-Fi with 2 gadgets. In the end, the test was a success. Mini-router signal can be received without any problems, connection is stable. We did not have the declared maximum speed up to 150 Mbps, but the one that the 3G modem gave, Lexand LXR-mini gave to all gadgets in a row.

It really does not care about the operating system, Wi-Fi is available for Mac, Windows and Android.

Lexand LXR-mini could be used in the country – a typical situation where you can get cellular signal in the whole house only in the attic, and in the far corner. Just hang a Lexand router with a 3G modem connected and you get internet access all over your house. You probably won’t be able to watch a movie, but you can check your email or reply to a social networking message.

The tiny 64x23x15 mm Lexand LXR-mini device costs about 1,500 Dollars.

Lexand LPB-52W and Lexand LPB-78W – routers with battery and USB-host functions

Encouraged by the success of testing the mini-router, we decided to try the larger Lexand LPB series routers. There are two models in this series, but the only difference is the battery capacity. The Lexand LPB-52W has a 5,200 mAh battery and the Lexand LPB-78W has 7,800 mAh. Since there is no difference in functionality, I took the LPB-52W model for the test.

Computers and peripherals

In the box, besides the router itself, there was a USB adapter, then a micro-USB cable, a removable battery and a case to protect the device. The assembly is of high quality, the gadget

No “squeaking”, the top panel is made of aluminum. Few buttons. On one side there is an “on-off” button, and on the other side there is a switch to switch Internet reception from 3G modem to Ethernet cable and back. That means that the LPB-52W can give out Wi-Fi, getting the signal from both a wireless connection and a wired one.

On the top of the router there is an indicator. It shows Wi-Fi signal level, Ethernet connection status DHCP and battery charge level. LPB Charging-

52W from the network through the adapter took about 5 hours, on the Internet they say that through the USB-adapter takes longer – have not tested. Tried turning the router on and off while charging, it

The charging process is not interrupted, i.e. the gadget charges in both modes.

Besides giving out Wi-Fi, Lexand LPB-52W can do 2 other things: charge other devices with its battery 5 200 mAh smartphone was enough for 3 charges and host information,

Which is contained in the connected USB-devices. That is, if you plug in a USB drive or insert a MicroSD card into the slot , then Wi-Fi will be available

information from these media.

Such a device is convenient to take with you on a business trip. Or sometimes you arrive with a smartphone, tablet, laptop, but there’s just one wire in the hotel room instead of Wi-Fi, and

Short. I could connect my Lexand router to it and surf the net wherever I wanted. And if any of the gadgets is discharged in the train, you can recharge it from the compartment without leaving it. And there is no need to look for a socket, run after the conductor and hang out in the vestibule until the phone is charged.

The price for the Lexand LPB-52W is affordable – less than 4,000 Dollars LPB-78W is more expensive – about 4,500 .

Conclusions

All Lexand devices described above are worth their money. If to understand, they will be useful for almost everyone, who is in business trips, on vacations abroad or in the country, and who wants to have a stable access to the Internet.
