HVL-F60RM2 and HVL-F46RM: Poweusaul new flashes in the Alpha Lighting System

The HVL-F60RM2 with a guide number of 60 and range coverage of 20-200mm and the HVL-F46RM with a guide number of 46 and range coverage of 24-105mm are powerful wireless flashes that allow for the most intuitive and fastest fine-tuning. Both flash units are great for continuous shooting, the HVL-F60RM2 can fire up to 200 shots at 10 fps.xiii, and the HVL-F46RM – 60 shots. Thanks to a new algorithm, both flash units are resistant to overheating. With four rechargeable Ni-MH batteries, the HVL-F60RM2 can fire 240 shots with 1.7 seconds of flash recycling time., And with the HVL-F46RM, you can shoot up to 320 pictures at 2 second intervals.

When used with Alpha cameras, users get the unique benefits of Alpha’s full-featured lighting system. For example, in conjunction with the Alpha 7 IV, it is now possible to use the P-TTL flash metering system not only in low-speed Lo mode, but also in medium and high-speed Mid and Hi . Also, shutter lag is reduced, allowing you to capture fleeting facial expressions and quick subject movements.

Sony HVL-F46RM

With the Alpha 1, the HVL-F60RM2 achieves a phenomenal 20 fps continuous shooting rate.xv When using the external battery adapter FA-EBA1 at this speed, the flash can run for over 10 seconds. When using an Alpha 1 full-frame camera and the HVL-F60RM2 and HVL-F46RM, the units can synchronize at speeds up to 1/400 sec., allowing you to use shorter shutter speeds to expand your creative possibilities. Quiet electronic shutter also enables silent flash photography when necessary.

Other benefits of using the HVL-F60RM2 and HVL-F46RM with Alpha cameras include:

  • Flash settings can be adjusted directly from compatible camera menus

  • Flash control cooperates with in-camera face detection

  • Automatic white balance correction based on flash color temperature information.

Both flash units are also more reliable and easy to use. Unique metal flash connector for multi-interface connector has been specially hardened for durability. Its sealing makes the flash more dust- and waterproof.xviii The HVL-F60RM2’s original flash head swivel mechanism, Quick Shift Bounce, has been redesigned to eliminate unintentional side-shift. This mechanism helps you flexibly adjust flash position for optimum control over the lighting of each shot.

The new models support wireless radio control of other flashes up to 15 flashes and/or receivers in 5 groups for limitless customization possibilities.

Both flashes will be available from authorized Sony dealers in December 2021.
