Textile industry experts showcase innovative trends that will define the look and texture of clothing of the future.
Leadership in clothes care means for AEG knowing not only the latest fashion trends, but also long-term trends. The production team met in London, Berlin, Bangkok and California with designers and experts whose developments may change the way we think about fabrics, clothing and textile production.
Suzanne Lee, founder of design consultancyBiosuture, combines science and fashion by growing fabric with yeast from green tea, sugar, and apple cider vinegar. In vitro biomaterials are 100% natural and leave no toxic waste.
AEG environmental director Gianluca Brotto acknowledges that clothes care is an important part of the textile industry’s “green” footprint:
“We work to create products with minimal environmental impact, both at the manufacturing stage and during laundry.”.
The “New Black” project reflects the value of innovation and sustainability for AEG.
In 2014, AEG introduced the most energy-efficient washing machine on the marketÖ KOMix. Thanks to a patented technology, it is 50% more economical than a Class A machine+++. Another new featureÖ KOKombiPlus is the world’s first washer-dryer with heat pump technology that uses energy and water 40% more efficiently. Both machines received the highest score on the Woolmark certification for the gentle treatment of fabrics, including silk and wool.
