Gitzo teams up with Sony on a series of accessories for the Alpha series

As part of the collaboration between the Vitec Group and Sony, Gitzo introduced the new Traveler α tripod and L-Bracket α, specifically designed for the Sony α7 and α9 cameras. New accessories are perfectly compatible with Sony cameras, providing a secure hold for more accurate framing.

Tripods

Traveler α is a compact and lightweight tripod with a sturdy, smart design and high quality materials. It weighs only 1.43 kg and a maximum height of 1.65 m. Withstands equipment weighting up to 10 kg and is equipped with Gitzo’s 180-degree leg folding system which folds the tripod to a compact 43 cm length.

The tripod legs are made with eXact carbon tube, which enables the use of a smaller diameter while maintaining the required strength and rigidity. And the leg assemblies lock with Gitzo’s Traveler G-lock – a lightweight version of Gitzo’s dependable full-length G-lock. Specially designed compact rubber tips increase the stability of the tripod in most situations and can be easily replaced if necessary with other Gitzo accessories e.g. spikes or large snow tips .

Tripods

Supplied with a professional carbon fiber ball head for smooth and precise movement and a firm grip for panning and tilting. In addition, the head features a quick-release bubble level pad that locks into place with a screw handle for easy leveling.

The head is not only designed for mounting Sony α cameras, but is also compatible with Arca-Swiss mounts GS5370SD and is ideal for all Gitzo profile plates. Comes with an ergonomically designed carbon grain leather strap, which makes it easy to carry.

Photo equipment

The L-Bracket α makes it easy to mount the camera vertically or horizontally, changing the orientation from portrait to landscape. It’s made from a single piece of aluminum and weighs only 77 grams. The design of the bracket includes four attachment points for the camera strap, technological holes for easy access to ports and cables, and a compartment for storing the hexagon.

Price and affordability

Both are available from the Gitzo Online Shop and from authorized dealers. Traveler α tripod costs $1000 and L-Bracket α is offered for $200.
