Fujifilm releases firmware update version 4.0.0 for XT-2 camera. The new firmware update adds autofocus bracketing, FullHD slow motion, F-logging to SD card, and lots of other improvements for the camera.
Firmware version 4.0.0 for Fujifilm X-T2
1. Adding āfocus bracketingā
Upgrade to allow photographers to shoot up to 999 frames using focal length bracketing. When the photographer starts shooting, the focus distance shifts every time the shutter is activated by a focus shift step that can be set between 1 and 10.
2. Compatible with the newly developed FUJINON MKX 18-55 mm T2 cinema lens.9 and FUJINON MKX50-135 mm T2.9
ā Aperture information can be displayed on the monitor. Update allows users to select T-stop or F-stop.
ā Update allows users to check focus distance using the distance indicator displayed on the monitor.
ā Automatically corrects distortion and color/brightness shading.
ā The camera automatically calculates white balance based on lens position and reproduces color expressions in film simulation modes.
3 Zooming in and adjusting the indicators or information displayed
Update allows users to magnify indicators and information in viewfinder and/or LCD monitor.
The update will also allow you to customize the location of the displayed data.
4. Update allows users to record F-log video data to SD card.
5. Adding 1080/120P high speed video mode
Update allows users to shoot FullHD video at 120 fps slow motion 1/2, 1/4 and 1/5 speed
6. Improved phase autofocus performance
ā The low-light limit for phase AF operation is improved by about 1.5 stops from 0.5EV to -1.0EV, improving the accuracy and speed of autofocus in low-light conditions.
ā Minimum aperture value at which phase AF is possible increased from F8 to F11.
ā Major improvements have been made to improve AF-C performance when using the zoom mode, which offers great advantages when shooting sports and other scenes in which subjects move unpredictably.
ā Enhanced phase-assisted autofocus lets you shoot wildlife at high speed and with great precision, getting detailed images of wild birdsā feathers or wildlife hair
7. Adding āFlicker Reductionā mode
Update allows users to reduce flicker in photos and display when shooting under fluorescent lighting and other similar light sources.
8. Adding āSelect Folderā and āCreate Folderā
Allows the user to select the folder in which subsequent photos will be saved. You can also enter a five-digit folder name to create a new folder to store subsequent images.
9. New functions added for saving and reading camera settings with FUJIFILM X Acquire
After connecting the camera to a computer via USB cable, āFUJIFILM X Acquireā allows users to back up/restore camera settings to/from a file. With āFUJIFILM X Acquireā ver.1.7 or newer CUSTOM REGISTRATION EDIT settings are also saved and read out.
