Fujifilm FinePix Z1000EXR compact camera review

FinePix Z-series packs cutting-edge electronic packaging and a suite of unique connectivity features. The new Z1000 is a business card in its own right — at least in terms of size, it’s very close.

16 MP 28-140 5x 3.5″ $270

Miniature, however, has not prevented the developers to equip the unit with a large touchscreen with a diagonal of 3.5 inches. Gestures and taps on the screen allow you to control shooting, and then – to edit and improve the resulting images. And that’s not the Z1000’s only virtue. The convenient 5x zoom is complemented by an advanced proprietary EXR CMOS sensor that provides, depending on the mode, high frame detail or accurate and “silent” reproduction of complex scenes. Electronics speed allows you to create fast bursts, record Full HD video or “slow-motion” movies at up to 320 fps, and shoot 360-degree panoramas. Also interesting are the communication capabilities of the compact. For example, the Z1000 is capable of connecting to Android and iOS phones and tablets and uploading captured photos to them.

In the end the merit of novelty is in skilful combination of high quality with developed modern functionality and pleasant appearance. Photographers who appreciate lightness, photographic skills and pleasing design will love the FinePix Z1000EXR, and perhaps more than any alternative.
