Express yourself with the new Z-series compact full-frame lens!

Nikon has introduced a compact and lightweight full-frame lens from its NIKKOR Z lineup with a constant focal length. The NIKKOR Z 40mm f/2 is an indispensable tool for every day. Sharp and bright, itā€™s perfect for everything from video blogs to highlights.

This standard prime lens with constant focal length and a natural angle of view is just what you need for portraits, interviews, or instructional videos. When people in the frame donā€™t have a huge lens pointed at them, they feel more at ease. The lens is ideal for capturing compelling first-person videos.

The wide Z mount and f/2 maximum aperture provide excellent low-light shots and help capture mood in dark scenes. 9-blade aperture with rounded aperture produces soft, natural bokeh: in photos and videos, the background is soft, blurry and emphasizes the main subject.

Dirk Jasper, Product Marketing Manager at Nikon Europe, notes:

ā€œWeā€™re delighted that Nikonā€™s Z Photo System has added a versatile constant focal length lens. This excellent value for money lens can serve as an entry point into Nikonā€™s world of Z cameras. It is so compact and lightweight that it would be ideal as a basic all-purpose lens or a lightweight second lens.ā€.

Key features: NIKKOR Z 40MM F/2

Standard fast f/2 constant focal length lens: 40 mm angle of view on full-frame Z-series cameras, 60 mm on DX-format Z-series cameras.

Realistic: Lens delivers superb detail, depth and color in stills and movies.

Artistic bokeh: itā€™s easier than ever to bring the subject into sharp focus and separate it from the beautiful, softly blurred background.

Great close-ups: minimum focus distance of just 0.29 m. Superior sharpness even at close range.

Fast and silent autofocus: the Z mount collects more light and the stepping motor is very quiet, so focusing is fast, accurate and silent.

Video support: the focusing sound wonā€™t ruin movies. ā€œFocus breathingā€ is greatly reduced, so adjusting the focus will have no noticeable effect on the angle of view.

Portable: its small size allows you to leave the lens on the camera or put it in your pocket.

Adjustable: the silent control ring can be assigned to focus, aperture, exposure compensation or ISO.

Protected: the lens is protected against dust and water droplets
