Canon expands its EOS range with high-speed DSLR and mirrorless cameras with stunning resolution

Company Canon has announced release of two cameras – mirrorless EOS 90D and mirrorless EOS M6 Mark II with high speed of shooting and high resolution. New models designed to help keen amateur photographers take their skills to the next level. The EOS 90D is fast, reliable and robust, with a robust body and familiar design – ideal for shooting sporting events or wildlife. The EOS M6 Mark II is the everyday companion for every occasion: a compact but powerful mirror-less camera with superb clarity.

Forget about the shots you missed

Capture life’s most beautiful moments with any of these new cameras. Both models use the latest generation of Canon’s DIGIC 8 processor, which delivers fast processing speeds, fast response times and the latest photo and video features. An electronic system with blazing fast minimum shutter speed of 1/16,000 s guarantees perfect quality when shooting fast-moving subjects and gives photographers confidence in situations where time is limited. At this shutter speed you can shoot at a wider aperture, even in natural light, to reduce the depth of field.

The EOS 90D offers 10fps AF and 11fps Live View speeds, perfect for shooting sports and wildlife. The optical viewfinder reduces shutter lag and provides the responsiveness needed, for example, when shooting birds in flight. Intelligent display functions give you full control over composition and shooting settings. Even if the subject moves quickly and unpredictably, photographers can get more great shots with high-speed continuous shooting and long bursts of up to 58 consecutive JPEG images at L resolution. The EOS 90D also gives you longer battery life: you can shoot up to 1300 frames measured according to CIPA standards without having to worry about running out of battery power.

The mirrorless EOS M6 Mark II offers continuous shooting at 14fps and RAW continuous shooting at up to 30fps. Both modes have tracking AF, so you can get great shots in the most unexpected situations with this fast and compact camera. To maximize the photographer’s chances of getting good spontaneous shots, the new mirror-less camera uses UHS-II cards that support continuous shooting up to 80 JPEG frames at L. Focus bracketing on both models makes it easy to increase depth of field by superimposing multiple frames in DPP.

Unprecedented image quality

Produce high quality images with excellent detail and no blurring or artifacts thanks to the new APS-C 32.5 megapixel image sensor, comparable to full frame cameras, but with the additional benefits of the APS-C format. DIGIC 8 gives both cameras the latest features of the EOS family. The photographer’s options are even greater, including in framing, and the detail of images is greater than ever before. The new processor also enables the use of lens corrections including digital lens optimization and diffraction correction: you’ll be able to capture great images without any additional processing.

With stunning instant-image quality, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, content creators can post great shots to social media sites in near real-time reporting mode. For sharp, realistic photos that capture facial expressions and natural movement, Canon has equipped both models with fast, accurate eye-tracking autofocus. In the case of the EOS 90D, this system works in conjunction with a 220,000-pixel RGB+IR exposure metering sensor and flicker detection to provide better face detection and more accurate overall exposure control.

Thanks to its high maximum ISO sensitivity range from 100 to 25,600 , the new sensor lets you increase resolution in low-light conditions without sacrificing quality. EOS M6 Mark II trumps the EOS M6: The new model is able to focus at light levels of -5EV when using a lens with a maximum aperture of f/1.4 or wider . That’s enough to take pictures not only indoors or in shade, but also under moonlight in cloudy weather.

4K content never gets old

EOS 90D and EOS M6 Mark II: versatile cameras for stills and movies. 4K resolution for a full field of view and Full HD shooting at up to 120fps deliver creative possibilities such as slow motion, cropping and shooting in Super High Definition. The EOS 90D also offers 4K resolution in cropped mode. You get closer to the subject, and the image retains its superb quality. That means you can create great video even from a great distance: you’ll make a compelling movie even if you can’t get close to the action, like on a safari.

Canon’s renowned Dual PixelCMOS AF system, available in Full HD and 4K across most of the frame 88 x 100% , delivers smooth, accurate focus tracking – just like professional video. This technology ensures sharp images of the subject against blurry backgrounds, while eye-tracking helps keep the focus on the face for clear and expressive video.

A microphone jack lets videobloggers and content creators use an external microphone to record crisp, distortion-free audio. The EOS 90D also features a headphone jack, so you can get better control over audio quality when you’re shooting video. This feature provides good audio when the action is not directly in front of the camera, and minimizes the amount of post-processing since audio levels can be controlled directly during recording. The handheld EOS M6 Mark II has a handy tilting screen, allowing perfect framing even when filming on the move or taking selfies.

Compact size EOS M6 Mark II lets you shoot without having to prepare – perfect if you don’t want to miss an interesting, spontaneous moment. Assignable function dial, main dial, customizable auto/manual focus switch, and autofocus on-off function are arranged intuitively for quicker camera control in dynamic situations. The detachable viewfinder is centrally located and elevated above the camera body, giving you plenty of room and comfort to fully immerse yourself in your creative process, and the tiltable screen offers additional photo and video opportunities.
