Canon appoints new president and CEO for Europe, Middle East and Africa

Canon, a global leader in imaging technology and services, has announced that Yuichi Ishizuka is the new president and CEO of Canon Europe, Middle East and Africa. He replaces Rokus van Iperen, who is retiring after six years in the position.

Rokus van Iperen, outgoing EMEA CEO and senior executive of Canon Inc., was appointed President and CEO of Canon Europe in 2012 and previously had a distinguished career at Oc&eacute NV. His first task was to ensure the smooth integration of Oc&eacute to Canon’s business, followed by a number of other important acquisitions under his leadership, aimed at implementing the company’s digital transformation strategy. He has also been busy building a solution-oriented product portfolio and exploring new business areas in fast-growing industries, such as networked video surveillance.

Yuichi Ishizuka, formerly president and COO of Canon US, has assumed his new role as president and CEO of Canon EMEA effective April 1. He has assumed leadership of an organization that operates in 120 countries, employs about 18,000 people and generates about a quarter of Canon Corporation’s total annual revenue.

Mr. Ishizuka is also the managing director of Canon Inc. He is tasked with developing the company’s existing core businesses and helping capitalize on its imaging expertise while exploring new avenues such as network video surveillance, industrial equipment, and commercial printing. He has in-depth knowledge and experience of other regions, having held senior positions in Canon’s North, Central and South America, as well as in Japan. The new post will be his first assignment in Europe.
