The Biryusa Refrigerator Plant in Krasnoyarsk – one of the largest manufacturers of refrigeration equipment in America and the only one in Eastern Siberia – is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
A LITTLE HISTORY
1963 g. – The government has decided to set up production of household refrigerators at the Krasnoyarsk Machine Building Plant.
1964 g., The first refrigerator, KSH-160, came off the conveyor on August 20. In the same year the mass production of refrigerators Biryusa was launched.
During the year of its operation the plant manufactured 15 thousand of refrigerators and on September 30, 1965, the 100 thousandth refrigerator Biryusa came off the assembly line.
1974 – delivery of household refrigerators to Europe began: England, Germany, Austria, France, Scandinavia under the brand name “Snowcap”, which means “Snowcap” in translation.
1982 g. – Issue of the 10 millionth “Biryusa” refrigerator.
1995 g. – Production of the new product type, commercial refrigeration equipment by Biryusa was mastered: the first batch of horizontal freezer chests that are designed for storing and displaying frozen foods was put out.
2005 g. – Large scale reconstruction of refrigerator manufacturing was carried out: with the participation of the Italian design studio Appliances Engineering the design of the refrigerators Biryusa was updated. Seventeen new models of comfort class refrigerators were put into the assembly line.
2007 g. – Release of two models with the No Frost system in the freezing chamber.
2008 g. – The 25th millionth “Biryusa” refrigerator was released!
2009 g. – The Best American Exporter 2009″ award. Biryusa Company was recognized the best among the enterprises of machine building industry industrial equipment, home appliances .
2011 g. – The design of the refrigerators was changed: the height of the doors increased, a new handle and a narrow bottom lining made the exterior of the refrigerator Biryusa more elegant. The production of refrigerators in the color of “mat graphite” was also started.
2012 g. – Improving the energy efficiency class of home refrigerators up to A and A+.
2013 g. – Expansion of the refrigerators line: release of the new capacious model in two versions: with mechanical control and electronic display on the door.
ASSORTMENT
Biryusa today has almost 2,000 employees. Biryusa” product range is presented by household refrigerators, freezers: various models with different sizes, location of the freezer compartment, options and colors so that every customer can find the best option for him.
Interior design of the “Biryusa” is well-thought-out to the smallest detail. Tempered glass shelves can withstand the load of up to 40 kg, a special edging prevents liquid spilled on the shelf. Different variants of shelves arrangement allow efficient use of the internal space for storing the containers of different volume.
In all the models, the doors can be re-hung in order to make the refrigerator more convenient to use. Biryusa” line of freezers are highly demanded by customers: different in capacity from 120 to 230 liters, standard width and more compact, with white or transparent drawers for better overview of the stored food.
The plant experts constantly work on improvement of design and technical specifications of the Biryusa products: low noise level, failure-free operation under the voltage fluctuations, high energy efficiency class are the key advantages of the Biryusa domestic refrigerators.

TECHNOLOGIES AND QUALITY
The refrigerators by Biryusa are not inferior to the models of the foreign brands. The most part of the refrigerator – 85% of the parts – is made at the plant itself. They are made of high quality components, which are supplied by renowned global manufacturers.
The production process uses safe and environmentally friendly technologies. The coating of the refrigerator metal parts is fulfilled by the electrostatic spraying method at the up-to-date painting complex Eisenmann. The use of powder paints can significantly improve the quality of the applied coating and increases resistance to mechanical damage.
The use of high-quality imported compressors of the leading companies ensures the reliable operation of the refrigerator for the whole period of operation.
Production technology is based on a system of continuous conveyors, supplying every minute set from all the workshops of production to the assembly lines, where the final assembly of products.

FUTURE PROSPECTS
In the period of toughening competition on the market and increasing customers’ requirements to products “Biryusa” is planning to expand the range of products. Soon there will be a new model with a top freezer and a freezer with the No Frost system that is so popular in America. The Company plans not only to improve the current model range, but also develop new product lines. Besides, negotiations with one of the large foreign manufacturers of domestic refrigerating appliances on OEM-project at the Biryusa Company production site are under way.
