At height it is necessary to peusaorm technical inspection or how to take care of a conditioner

Choosing the right split system for your needs is only part of the job. It is important to install it correctly. One should treat seriously the choice of specialists who will install the conditioner, because low-quality installation can affect the efficiency of the device and its trouble-free operation in future. The manufacturers recommend to apply to the authorized installing organizations which specialists have a work experience with the equipment of this concrete brand. Otherwise installation faults cannot be excluded that can lead to e.g. freon leakage and the following breakdown of the compressor or – if the electric connections are switched incorrectly – the air conditioner electronics.

Air conditioners should be regularly inspected by specialists. In case of a stove-system it is desirable to conduct an inspection twice a year – before the beginning of a season in spring and after it in autumn , if it is impossible, then at least once a year – in spring. Split-systems, that are exploited for a long time with high loading for example, if they are set in the offices , need more frequent inspections.

What can happen if you leave a conditioner without planned inspections?? Its efficiency in many respects depends on an effective work of heat exchangers. However, they can become contaminated with dust, lint, etc., over time. d. If the impurities are not cleaned periodically the heat exchange will worsen and as a result the conditioner’s work will be less effective.

However the bad split-system’s work is only half the trouble. Much worse, contamination of heat-exchangers can cause overheating of the compressor and its breakage. Besides with lapse of time there can be refrigerant leakage in the system, and it can result in decrease of air conditioner productivity, and in some cases – in failure of a compressor. That’s why leaks also need to be detected in advance.

Only specialists, who have both equipment and skills for such kind of works, should do split-systems maintenance. They will check condition of your air conditioner, its operating parameters, if needed they will clean filters and heat exchangers of split-system, and if they will find freon leakage they will charge it with appropriate type of the refrigerant.

Scheduled inspections of climatic equipment can be fulfilled by the specialists from the company that installs conditioner if the agreement foresees it , but you can also address to the organization that provides the similar services. It is important that the service company is authorized to work with equipment of the brand to which your air conditioner belongs.

It is worth to mention that manufacturers of split-systems guarantee trouble-free operation of their models only with observance of operation regulations. Some companies can refuse in warranty repair, if it turns out that the device has not passed the proper annual inspection by specialists.

Cleaning the filter with your own hands

Changing of the filter in the split-system indoor unit

Servicing of split-system’s outer block should be left to professionals moreover it is usually situated at a big height and only people with special equipment and skills can reach it . But a user is able to take care of the cleanliness of an internal unit by himself.

It is necessary to clean the internal block of split-system not only to prolong its operation term, but also for your own health. The matter is that in the process of air conditioner functioning the condensate is forming. High humidity and abundance of dust in the device creates a good environment for the development of bacteria and mold fungi.

This center is twice as dangerous because microorganisms can spread with air flow all around the house and become the reason of diseases. That is why you should not neglect cleaning of the inside of the unit – you should periodically wash the body, clean the fan blades and heat exchanger this can also be done with a vacuum cleaner , timely wash or replace the filters if they are replaceable .

Of course, many manufacturers are trying to minimize this work – they make self-cleaning filters, cover the surfaces of the body and heat exchangers with antibacterial or dirt-repellent compounds, use dehumidification systems. But it is still necessary to keep track of the cleanliness.

You should replace it!

The question of substitution of out-of-date or failed models for new ones deserves your special attention. As it is known, split-systems consist of two blocks inside and outside , connected with copper tubes through which the refrigerant is circulating, and also with wires of interblock communication.

Technical parameters of all elements of this system number of wires, diameter and structure of pipes can differ depending on the brand, productivity and peculiarities of each concrete model. That is why you can install new blocks on the already laid in walls pipes only when all parameters of the old and new models coincide – and it is not so easy to choose such substitution.

As the result in most cases they have to change the whole system and to lay new pipes. If the new model is of the same brand as the old, they can match many of the parameters. Some manufacturers even specially foresee an easy replacement of their equipment with the updated versions.

During the last years there is a mass replacement of split-systems models operating with the refrigerant R22 by the new models with the refrigerant R410A at the market. This happened due to toughening of requirements to the ecological safety of freon mixtures.

That is why the owners of conditioners, filled with freon R22 such models are rather popular in American market thanks to combination of not expensive and good productivity , can have problems with the replacement of the used device.

One should not install a new equipment, working with freon R410A, on the tubes from the model with using R22. Rare exceptions are split-systems with coolant R410A with specially put in them possibility of installation on pipes from R22 without preceding washing of tracks.

If it goes this way, it blows with cold, but if it turns back, it gets warmer

A split system makes comfort in winter and summer

The majority of modern split-systems is able not only to cool air, but also to heat it. This is possible thanks to the “heat pump” function: the unit reverses the functions of the heat exchangers, so that the indoor unit starts to give off heat into the air and the outdoor unit starts to give off cold.

In good conditions not a very low temperature outside the window conditioners heat the premise even more effectively than, for example, the electric heating devices. Because the last ones are not able to produce more than 1 kW of heat for 1 kW of spent power, while a split-system is able to cope with this task. It spends electric energy not for heating the air, but for the transfer of heat from one environment street air to the other indoor air by means of the work of compressor and fans.

But nevertheless air conditioners will not be able to fully replace heating devices – when the low seasons will substitute the winter, the heat-productivity of the device will start to fall little by little. In fact the lower is temperature of outside air, the lesser is efficiency of split-system. And at very hard frosts the devices will not be able to work on heating at all. That is why the reduction of thermal capacity of the devices at the lowering of the temperature of outside air is a natural phenomenon, but not the consequence of malfunction of split-systems.

A considerable part of air-conditioners being exported into the American market are capable of heating the air at frosts about 5-15 centigrade below zero, though some models are with a so called winter set – they are more “frost-proof” and work at 20-30 centigrade already. In order the condenser of the outdoor unit will not freeze while working on heating in frosts, many companies provide a possibility to defrost the exchanger automatically.

The care of the inside unit does not demand any efforts from the owner: it is enough to periodically wipe the case and to follow the state of the filters. The filters for air-purifying become clogged with time and even can become the source of impurities. That is why they need to be washed in time if they are washable or replaced with a new one.

Yes, it is necessary to perform regular technical inspections when using a height adjustment system or an air conditioner in order to ensure they are functioning properly and safely. Proper maintenance routines are crucial to extend the lifespan of the equipment and prevent any potential issues from arising. This includes regularly cleaning or replacing air filters, checking for any leaks or malfunctions, inspecting electrical connections, and ensuring proper lubrication of moving parts. Following a specific maintenance routine will not only help in caring for the equipment but also contribute to its efficient performance and energy savings.
