Appointment of new managing director of FUJIFILM in Europe

As of May 14, 2018. Mr. Masato Yamamoto takes over as Managing Director of FUJIFILM Europe GmbH Düsseldorf, Germany and FUJIFILM Europe B.V. Tilburg, The Netherlands . Mr. Yamamoto will be responsible for 55 Fujifilm Group companies in Europe in R&D, manufacturing, sales, marketing and service. About 4,000 Fujifilm employees work in this region.

Fujifilm Corporation operates within the aforementioned lines of business, including photography, printing, graphic products and medical solutions. In addition, the company is implementing a series of new projects utilizing the universal core technologies originally developed by Fujifilm in the production of photographic film. This includes regenerative medicine, drug development and delivery mechanisms, membrane technology, and innovative applications of big data.

Mr. Yamamoto succeeds Mr. Guo Miyazaki, who has held the position since June 2016. Mr. Miyazaki is now assuming his new position at the corporate planning division of FUJIFILM Holdings, based in Tokyo, Japan.

Masato Yamamoto was born in January 1963. Mr. Yamamoto joined Fujifilm in 1986. After graduating from Waseda University Japan and, after changing several positions, in 1994. moved to the U.S. to study at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In 1996. Has successfully completed his MBA course. In 2000. Has been named chief deputy president of FUJI PHOTO FILM USA in the U.S. and was responsible for the imaging solutions division.

Gradually expanded his area of responsibility, moving up to more senior positions. In 2008. Became division president. In 2010. Returned to Japan to lead Fujifilm’s global imaging solutions division. Two years later, he became general manager of the imaging products division at FUJIFILM Corporation. In 2015. Mr. Yamamoto moved again to the US, but as President and COO of FUJIFILM North America.

Returning in June 2017. to Japan, took over as director of FUJIFILM Corporation, responsible for the Asia-Pacific photographic products division as vice president of the corporation and general manager of corporate planning. In September of the same year, he was also appointed Deputy General Manager for Corporate Planning at FUJIFILM Holdings.

“As Managing Director and President of FUJIFILM Europe GmbH, I am responsible for the overall success of our companies in Europe. I am determined to meet the challenges of a changing market and ensure positive results for our business and our customers,” said Mr. Yamamoto.

“As a cohesive European team, we will work together to create new strategies that will take Fujifilm to the next level of development. I look forward to our future success in attracting new customers, establishing new partnerships, and achieving new efficiencies in the market,” concluded Mr. Yamamoto.
