The MFP was released in 2011 to replace the discontinued TASKalfa 420i. The device belongs to the most popular solutions for medium/large office: network printing, copying, network scanner, duplex, optional 100-sheet reversing ADF or 175-sheet ADF. Optional paper cassettes with capacity up to 7,150 sheets provide intensive non-stop printing.

HyPAS for Java-based applications, with remote network management capability. HyPAS allows you to configure the MFP interface, expand and customize functions, and interact with IT systems. It supports open standards, which means that any IT developer would be able to create applications for Kyocera.
MFPs are equipped with various “tricks” of security. Use of IPsec, designed to protect the IP protocol, helps to prevent data leakage or theft. The SSL protocol encrypts data on the network and guarantees a secure connection between sender and receiver of information. Printed Document Guard Kit utility allows documents to be marked with inconspicuous tags: these papers can’t be copied on TASKalfa machines in the future – the device will refuse to print them.
And when copying on another brand of machine or on Kyocera machines without the Document Guard Kit option, the document will be watermarked. The basic configuration includes PDF encryption function. Standard 160 Gb HDD and 1 Gb of memory allow using the devices as document servers.
Personal virtual drawers, “shared data” and “collaborative printing” drawers can be created for each employee. And of course, manufacturers have taken care of longevity of MFP’s components and long resource of consumables: toner capacity is 35 000 ppm., 600,000 ppm drum. The maximum monthly print volume is 200,000 pages./mes.
Can anyone provide more details about the performance and reliability of the Kyocera TASKalfa 4500i laser MFP? How does it compare to other similar models in terms of speed, print quality, and overall functionality? Any insights would be greatly appreciated before making a buying decision.
