The World Photography Organization has announced the names of the winners and the shortlist for the Sony World Photography Awards 2021 Open, featuring the best single works created in 2020. More than 100 photographers were shortlisted for the 2021 competition along with winners in each of the ten categories. This yearâs Open Competition was judged by Gaston DeLeo Gastó n Deleau, Director of FOLA Museum of Contemporary Art, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The winner in each category will receive the latest digital equipment from Sony to further their creativity, and will compete for the prestigious title of âOpen Photographer of the Yearâ, as well as a five thousand dollar prize.
Winner of the Open will be announced April 15. The winning entries and short-listed photos will be featured in a virtual exhibition and will be available for viewing on the World Photography Organization website beginning April 15, 2021.
