The secrets of automatic watering from Gardena

Summer is just around the corner, and hot days are almost upon us. But ruining a beautiful garden can be hard on the little green creatures in your garden. So flowerbeds, lawns, trees and bushes need constant watering. And getting it right is no easy task.

Many gardeners still prefer to water by hand. At the same time, the average water requirement of green crops is 200 liters per square meter. And to provide such humidification by hand especially in dry periods is not possible for everyone. In this case Gardena automatic sprinkler systems are the answer.

Above all, the auto irrigation system ensures an optimal and even water supply to all plants, unlike manual irrigation. How it works? Gardena automatic irrigation systems consist of water timers and sprinklers connected to each other by plastic pipes through which water flows. Pipes are laid underground so they won’t spoil your garden. They are connected by straight couplings and by T- or L-shaped couplings. Quick&Easy technology ensures that all parts are firmly and tightly connected. When it is time to irrigate, the sprinklers are lifted off the ground and work.

Gardena’s latest technology developed the intelligent AquaContour Automatic Multi-Circuit Sprinkler. Thanks to special beacons, contour points set along the perimeter of the area, this sprinkler irrigates exactly those areas that need it, according to the desired trajectory of the user. The area covered is up to 350 m².

Turbo-driven pop-up sprinklers T 100, T 200 and T 380 are very popular with country garden owners. They are suitable for watering areas of 100, 200 and 380 m² respectively. You can adjust the length of the hose as you wish.

The new, unique Gardena Oscillating Sprinkler OS 140 is ideal for square and rectangular areas from 2 m² to 140 m². Irrigation range adjustable from 2 to 15 m, width – from 1 to 9,5 m.

For small lawns up to 80 m², the S80 pop-up sprinkler can be used. According to the layout of the homestead the range of watering can be adjusted from 2.5 to 5 m. And the S80/300 can easily irrigate areas behind tall plants or flowerbeds thanks to the 30 cm high piston. The watering range of 2.5 to 5 m covers up to 80 m².

You can also program the system for a certain watering time. For automatic garden irrigation a Gardena Control Box must be installed. The Gardena C1060 Plus Water Timer is attached to the tap and the user then sets the required parameters in sequence. You can select up to six different watering programs daily, lasting from one minute to 9 hours 59 minutes each. You can also connect a Gardena Rain Sensor or Soil Moisture Sensor to the valve. The rain sensor monitors the natural rainfall: If it rains while irrigating, the system stops. And if the soil is wet enough, thanks to the moisture sensor the watering will not start when it was scheduled or will stop.

The automatic irrigation system will certainly worth the investment. With proper use, it will serve the owner for decades.
