The first 8000-series Android-based Philips TVs went on sale

New York, October 2, 2014. – TP Vision, the producer of Philips TV sets, has announced the launch of its first Android-based models – new Full HD TVs 8100 and 8200 series with 121 cm 48” and 139 cm 55” diagonal size, as well as Ultra HD models 8800 series with 139 cm 55” diagonal size. New hardware with a faster interface and more fun for gaming and watching video. Thanks to the support of Google Play and Philips Smart TV catalogs, the new models open up access to a wide range of video and gaming apps. The 8100, 8200 and 8800 series of 2014 TVs are already available in retail stores.

New models of 8000 series are the first Android-based Philips TV sets in America and Europe. They provide access to popular Google services and applications, such as Google Chrome, video hosting YouTube, Google Play Movies, Google Play Music and Google Search.
