Sony announces the launch of the Sony Tablet P series. Easy to use and running the latest Android operating system, this compact tablet PC lets you dive into the amazing world of online entertainment.

The design is eye-catching – thanks to its dual 13.9cm 5.5in touchscreen, Sony Tablet P can be folded up to fit in your pocket – and can be put in your pocket easily.

Sony Tablet P is perfect for travel, commuting and city living. Lightweight 372 g and compact – folded down to 79x180x26 mm – this tablet is made for sharing and entertainment on the move.

Its innovative folding design and dual screens give you maximum portability. Sony Tablet P also comes with NVIDIA Tegra 2 processing and connects to Wi-Fi and 3G mobile networks.

Sony Tablet P runs the latest version of Android 3.2. Front and rear cameras for video and photos. And the availability of Micro USB 2 port.0 and Micro SD card slot makes it easy to copy data from your PC and lets you transfer files directly from digital cameras, camcorders and other devices.

The ultimate design

The innovative design of Sony Tablet P gives you two touchscreens to serve multiple purposes. For example, you can use one to watch videos and the other to control playback or you can read your email on one screen and use the second as a keyboard.

You can also combine both displays into a larger display to browse the web, or perform other tasks. The foldable design makes it smaller and easier to carry in your jacket pocket or bag. And if you turn Sony Tablet P vertically, you can read an e-book just like a regular book.

Sony Tablet P features Sony’s TruBlack technology. The TruBlack panel controls the refraction of light between the LCD and screen, making the colors and depth of black on display richer and clearer.

TruBlack technology reduces reflection and glare from sunlight and fluorescent lights, delivering high contrast images indoors and outdoors.

Speed and convenience

Sony’s unique combination of Quick View and Quick Touch technologies speeds up web browsing and provides fast response and smooth touchscreen image changes, as well as a simple, easy-to-use user interface. Large keys on the virtual keyboard give you optimum screen real estate and automatically change according to the task in hand.

For example, a numeric keypad appears when you enter passwords, and an auto-completion feature makes typing text and emails easier.

A wide range of apps

Sony Tablet P comes preloaded with apps that let you watch videos, play music, play games, read e-books and more. The model provides constant access to applications and mobile services of Google, including three-dimensional maps.

Just tap the Favourites icon to access videos, music, games and more, and you can also search the web using Google Voice Search.

You can also download a huge range of other apps from Android Market, including a growing number of apps optimised for your Sony Tablet.

The applications that Sony pre-installed on delivery of these devices include the following:

• Social network message reader that groups all messages from Facebook and Twitter, as well as RSS information into one channel/list, making viewing messages easier and more convenient
• Music player that lets you browse your music library and create dynamic playlists of songs based on selectable themes using SensMe technology – tunes are categorized by musical direction, rhythm, and other criteria. You can choose from 14 theme channels to suit your current mood energetic, relaxing, dance music, lounge, etc. . You can also view cover art and visuals and download related content from the web.
• The video player, allows you to view and play video clips using a variety of viewing modes and find specific episodes.
• Wireless content transfer function, allows one-touch transfer of photos, videos and music files from your tablet computer to various types of AV equipment. Stream your content wirelessly from your Sony Tablet to your TV, stereo, computer or other DLNA-enabled device.
• PlayStation Certified. Sony Tablet P is PlayStation Certified and lets you play original PlayStation games. Comes pre-loaded with two games.

Sharing data between devices

Sony Tablet lets you wirelessly control your home entertainment devices and share content with family and friends.

Transfer photos and videos from your Sony Tablet to a set-top box or other DLNA-enabled device with the touch of a button. Sony Tablet also supports music playback with wireless speakers.
