Review of multicookers of up to 2 liters

Many manufacturers have listened to those who dreamed of a small multicooker: after all, not everyone suits a bowl of 4-5 liters. There’s now a good selection of mini-multi cookers on the market for small families and small kitchens. Single people, couples, young people living in rental housing – that’s the target audience of mini-multi machines. Often such a device is bought in addition to a large multicooker to cook for children separately.

WHO, WHY?

Now there is a good choice of mini-multi-cookers on the market for small families and small kitchens. Single people, couples, young people living in rental housing – that’s the target audience for mini-multi cookers. Often such an appliance is bought in addition to a large multicooker to cook for children separately. The power of “kids” is 1.5-2.5 times lower than that of full-size models, so they are bought for country houses and for homes with old weak wiring.

QUITE SMALL?

Mini-multi-cookers can be divided into 2 groups: with a bowl volume of 1.6 to 2 liters they are units on the market, see. Table and models of 2,5 to 3,5 liters. The latter do not differ much from “adult” devices. Such models make Panasonic, Philips, Cuckoo, Element, Brand and many other firms.

WHAT THEY DON’T KNOW?

The mini versions don’t cook under pressure. There are no pressure cookers among small models, with one exception see table . Table , it’s true, it’s only a pressure cooker, but not a multi. The cooking temperature adjustment is absent in multicookers of up to 2 liters, among the models of 3-3,5 liters. They are also few: Cuckoo CR-0821FI, Polaris PMC 0310AD, Zigmund & Shtain MC-D31, Bork U701, Binatone BM-2170. Adjustment of cooking time is available in many models.

POTSHERD, VARI! – POT, STOP IT!

The words “Pot, cook” start half of the articles about multicookers, although our magazine started it about 10 years ago, when they first came to America. But now multicookers can do so much – and fry, and bake, and make yogurt, and toast. But there is a class of appliances that unscrupulous sellers sometimes pass off as multicookers – these are casseroles. Their volume may well be a “mini” – 1-2 liters, but in contrast to the multivark, they have just one button – on and off. Of course, casseroles can stew vegetables and boil soup, rice, or a piece of meat, and then keep the dish hot. But there the similarity with the multicooker ends: they will not be able to fry, or yogurt, or bake, there is no delayed cooking timer, no other multicooker features.

MINI, BUT MULTI

Mini-multi-cookers are devices of full value, just of smaller volume and less power. Even among the smallest models – up to 2 liters – you can find devices with 7-10 programs, models with electronic control, display, menu voice prompts, 3D-heating when the lid is also built in a heating element , the function of self-cleaning steam. But there is something that only mini-devices are able to do: for example, some can be connected to the car battery and not to give up multi-cooking say, for children even when traveling, vacation, camping.
