Panasonic introduced the world’s first fully secure hybrid business device, the Toughbook CF-20

Bracknell, UK – Panasonic today unveiled the Toughbook CF-20, the world’s first fully secure, hybrid business device that combines the capabilities of a laptop and a tablet. The novelty features unmatched versatility and a wide range of features.

The Toughbook CF-20 is a fully rugged laptop whose removable screen can be used as a rugged tablet. Six different modes for almost any situation. Glove-wearing touchscreen capability, 14 hours of battery life, hot-swappable battery, and a professional car and desktop docking station make the Panasonic Toughbook CF-20 ideal for mobile personnel.

The new product is based on one of the most popular models of secure laptops Panasonic Toughbook CF-19. Hybrid supports a wide range of business interfaces with additional customizable options. Toughbook CF-20 is the first fully rugged Toughbook to come with Windows 10 Pro and a 6th generation Intel Core vPro processor.

A representative of Zurich Engineering part of Zurich Group, an international provider of financial and insurance services , which participates in the Panasonic Toughbook Early Adopter testing program, shares his impressions of the new product.

Absolute flexibility

Panasonic Toughbook CF-20 can be used both as a regular notebook and as a tablet. The built-in handle makes it easy to carry and hang on the wall, and the professional car dock lets you use it fully while traveling. A variety of ports and customizable options gives the Toughbook CF-20 versatility.

The hybrid can be used in applications such as insurance, transportation and fleet management, field service, maintenance and service departments of utilities and telecommunications companies, as well as government agencies, the military and emergency services.

Crystal clarity

Panasonic Toughbook CF-20 is equipped with WUXGA 10.1-inch capacitive display 1920×1200 pixels with multi-touch technology up to 10 simultaneous touches and is designed for outdoor work including bright sunlight or heavy rain. The highest image quality with brightness up to 800 cd/m2 is provided by IPS Panel technology. IP55 Digitizer Pen optional for workers whose work demands maximum precision in inputting graphics text, sketches, graphs, etc. .d. in challenging weather conditions.

High performance

The high performance of the Panasonic Toughpad CF-20 throughout its lifespan is provided by the Intel Core m5-6Y57 vProTM processor 4MB cache, 1.1GHz to 2.8GHz with Intel Turbo Boost Technology fanless, Intel HD 515 Graphics, 8GB RAM, 256GB hard drive and Windows 10 Pro operating system upgradable to Windows 7 .

Uninterrupted operation

Panasonic Toughbook CF-20 can work continuously throughout the shift. Hot-swappable battery allows users to change the battery without turning off the device. An extra battery can be inserted in the keyboard compartment to provide double battery capacity. Hot-swappable batteries can also be swapped between the tablet and the base unit.

The perfect communicator

A built-in 2-megapixel webcam with stereo microphones and an 8-megapixel rear camera keep Panasonic Toughbook CF-20 users connected at all times. There is also a modification with 4G LTE for connection to the office and personnel management systems and the option U-Blox GPS 8 for precise navigation.

Ecosystem support

Panasonic Toughbook CF-20 supports a full range of peripherals, ensuring maximum mobile productivity both on the road and in the office. Car dock built with external antenna that amplifies communication signal, allowing full use of Toughbook CF-20 in car. Docking station provides full port replication for maximum device functionality.

The tablet can be removed from the base, attached to the dock. The device can be docked closed and open for routing and GPS access.

Secure and user-friendly

The Panasonic Toughbook CF-20 is designed to the highest standards of mobile device protection IP65 and MIL-STD 810G , making it ideal for any “field” use.

The latest Toughbook is much lighter than its predecessors: its weight in laptop mode is less than 1.76 kg, the removable tablet weighs 950 g, which is much less than the industry standard for devices of this type – 2 kg. Built-in handle frees you from the need to buy additional means of carrying. At the same time the increase in the size of the keys by 16% makes it easier to enter data.
