Olympus E-PM2 overview

The new Pen Mini series is really smaller than other Olympus mirrorless cameras. For example, the E-PM2 is several millimeters thinner and fifty grams lighter than the updated E-PL5. In essence the size and the display permanently fixed to the body are just about all that sets the “mini” apart from its bigger sister.

Although the screen E-PM2 does not diversify the photographer’s experience with easy angles and shooting from the waist, it also responds to touch for example, to indicate the focus area and has a good resolution 460 thousand pixels . pixels and a diagonal of 3 inches . 16-megapixel sensor, and the entire image acquisition and processing system is the same as in the older models. That is, the novelty of the younger series is able to shoot at sensitivities up to 25,600 ISO, capture 8 fps in burst mode, and at the same time records movies with 1920×1080 pixels at 30 fps in MPEG-4 format.

The device for some reason is deprived of built-in blitz – instead, the kit includes a miniature external flash this approach has already worked out other manufacturers, but almost all then decided to embed flash . But unlike other budget amateur systems E-PM2 is equipped with a “hot shoe” and therefore, if it is interesting for someone, is able to work with high-quality external light.

The result is a very conventional junior camera position. It may be simpler but it’s not: the E-PM2 gets the best of the Olympus compact system in terms of electronics and imaging. What is especially good about it is that when it appears in stores, it will not cost much.

Can anyone provide some insights into the Olympus E-PM2? I’m looking to upgrade my current camera and I’m interested in its features, performance, and overall user experience. How does it compare to other similar models on the market? Any recommendations or observations from those who have used it would be greatly appreciated!
