Nikon’s mirrorless camera system and COOLPIX P1000 with DF-M1 collimator scope won the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2019

Nikon is pleased to announce that its new mirrorless camera system and COOLPIX P1000 with the DF-M1 collimator sight have won the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2019. A professional jury evaluated more than 5,500 products on nine criteria, including innovation, functionality and reliability.

Nikon’s mirrorless Z camera system

New mirrorless camera system wins award for innovation in optics and mirrorless technology. The system consists of two cameras, the Z7 and Z6, with a new larger bayonet and an enhanced NIKKOR Z lens in the S series. An FTZ mount adapter completes the kit, which makes the Z cameras compatible with NIKKOR F-mount lenses.

COOLPIX P1000 compact digital camera and DF-M1 collimator sight

The COOLPIX P1000 was recognized for its outstanding achievements in optical system development. With its 125x optical zoom with a focal range of 24mm to 3000mm , the most powerful among compact cameras, this model is especially popular with amateur photographers.

DF-M1 collimator sight wins Product Design Award with P1000. Helps photographers capture and track subjects across the entire zoom range of the P1000, including those in the far distance without having to use a lens.

About the award

The Red Dot Design Award is a prestigious international design award given by the German design center Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen. The award-winning products will be on display at a special exhibition at the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen, Germany, starting July 8, 2019. to June 30, 2020
