Nikon D3000 DSLR test

Fountain

Photo 1. Cloudy weather with bright patches of sky: soft lighting with quite large variations in brightness. The shots are well developed, with no gaps in the highlights, but the overall contrast is somewhat lower than desired f/11, 1/500 s, ISO 400, 18-55mm lens, 50mm focal length .

On the quad

Photo 2. Testing the tracking focus. The 3D tracking function caught the chaotic movement of the subject within the frame, the autofocus captured the movements clearly f/7.1, 1/200 s, ISO 400, 16-85 mm lens, focal length of 55 mm .

Marrying

Photo 3. Normal tracking mode, center point focus. People moving towards the camera turned out to be sharp, even when shooting from a short distance f/9, 1/100 s, ISO 200, 16-85 mm lens, focal length of 38 mm .

Breaking

Photo 4. You can appreciate the excellent work of the auto white balance in this shot. The gray stone, the green grass, the clothes of the participants at the wedding photo shoot – everything was beautifully rendered f/8, 1/125 seconds, ISO 200, lens 16-85mm, focal length 85mm .

Tables

Photo 5. Photos shot with neutral settings and by raising or lowering the camera’s processing parameters cannot always be fully corrected in graphics programs. Portrait mode gave too low contrast, and even after processing, the image is quite faded f/8, 1/250 s, ISO 400, the lens 18-55 mm, focal length of 34 mm .

Deer

Photo 6. Vivid mode increases color saturation and contrast. This is good for viewing, but not great for post-processing either f/5, 1/500s, ISO 400, 18-55mm lens, focal length of 48mm .

Flowers

Photo 7. Macro mode does not always provide the best depth of field. Although the exposure is very well defined, and the increase in color saturation was very helpful. When shooting handheld, the image stabilization mode provided in the standard zoom f/5.6, 1/80 s, ISO 400, 18-55 mm lens, focal length of 55 mm proved to be useful.

Boat

Photo 8. The Landscape program closes the aperture for a greater depth of field, but the autofocus prefers to catch the foreground subjects f/9, 1/320 s, ISO 400, 18-55 mm lens, 18 mm focal length .

At the crooked mirror

Photo 9. Example of continuous shooting with tracking autofocus. The girl was actively moving, but there were almost no sharpness failures f/7.1, 1/200 s, ISO 400, lens 16-85 mm, focal length 52 mm .

White tiger

Photo 10. Due to thick glass of the fence in the pictures of the white tiger, there was a slight extraneous tint and the contrast changed noticeably. Stabilization worked well and all photos came out sharp f/5.6, 1/250s, ISO 400, 16-85mm lens, focal length of 85mm .

Flamingo

Photo 11. Technically challenging water photography. The camera perfectly captured all the subtle colors f/5.6, 1/320 s, ISO 400, 16-85 mm lens, 85 mm focal length .
