Mini review of NEC M311W 3LCD multimedia projector

M311W is designed to equip small conference rooms, meeting rooms and classrooms. This is a compact but powerful WXGA unit with a light output of 3100 ANSI-Lm and a contrast ratio of 3000:1 – extremely high for its class and 3LCD projection technology. The projector features extended lamp life – up to 8000 hours by comparison, average life of discharge lamps in this type of devices is about 2000-6000 hours , which reduces the ownership cost of the device. This was made possible through the use of Eco Technology, which extends the life of the lamp and reduce power consumption device.

Multimedia 3LCD projector

In addition to VGA, RCA and S-Video connectors that are traditional for portable projectors, the M311W is equipped with an HDMI input for digital signal reception as well as USB Type A and B ports. The model can receive picture and sound by USB-cable using USB-Display technology, or even project content without any wired connections – from a simple “flash drive”, where the necessary files were recorded in advance. The projector can be supplemented with an optional Wi-Fi adapter for wireless connection of the device and the computer.

M311W allows to integrate it into a LAN-network and not only to monitor and control its condition remotely, but also to transmit data via LAN from a remote computer.

There is VGA output socket for control monitor connection which duplicates projected image. If you connect the projector to your PC with a USB cable, you can control the computer without even walking around. The remote control simulates the computer mouse cursor – it moves it and imitates mouse button presses. You can also use the remote control to navigate your presentation slides.

The projector has a built-in speaker for sound reproduction, its power 10 W is enough to serve small rooms without additional acoustics. And for ease of use in educational settings, the projector features a blackboard projection function.

Lens is equipped with a slide cover that can be easily moved to the side before and returned to the place after the demonstration without fear of losing it.
