LG French-door giant refrigerator cools beer in five minutes

LG Electronics showed on the Consumer Electronics Show CES-2012 the most capacious French-door refrigerator with the volume of 878 l. The new model is equipped with innovative features such as the Blast Chiller, a feature that won the CES 2012 Best Innovation Award.

Moreover, the increased internal space of the refrigerator and the effective system of air flow regulation contribute to better preservation of the freshness of food and its useful properties.

Leader in French-door refrigerators, LG has also added more environmentally friendly features to the design that meet the U.S. Department of Energy’s Energy Star standard, consuming 20% less energy than the federal government’s energy standards.

The new French-door refrigerator is an upgraded version of its 878-liter predecessor from 2011. Equipped with the most advanced features, the new model improves the quality of food storage, providing additional convenience for consumers.

“We are happy that our French-door refrigerator has received such recognition, but it was not a surprise to us,” said Moon-bum Shin, Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of LG Electronics Home Appliance. – “It has plenty of capacity and comes with lots of useful features.

For example, people will love being able to put a can of beverage into the Blast Chiller and have it cooled in just a few minutes. We are also proud to be able to offer the most advanced features to keep food fresh and more easily accessible, as well as a great design – and at the same time, reduce energy consumption.”.

Well, a very big-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o!

With a capacity of 878 liters, the new refrigerator can hold about 190 liters of milk in the fresh food compartment alone. In addition, the new French Door model has increased interior space through improved ergonomics.

While most ice machines are bulky and located inside the refrigerator, the LG’s innovative Slim Space Plus ice maker is located in the door, leaving more room for door baskets and freeing up the top shelf completely. The new French Door’s insulation panels are 23 percent thinner than those used in LG’s previous models. But they also provide the most efficient thermal insulation, leaving more room for consumers without sacrificing energy efficiency.

The fresher, the better

LG Smart Cooling Plus keeps food fresh and reduces food waste. It combines LG’s powerful Linear Compressor with a Dual Evaporator and digital sensors to maintain optimal humidity and temperature. Digital sensors constantly monitor the internal climate, while the dual evaporator quickly reacts to any changes, restoring the correct temperature if needed.

These two systems work in tandem with LG’s unique Multi-Air Flow cooling system – a set of vents placed in strategic locations – so that food on any shelf is surrounded by cool air. And the Fresh Air Filter, with a separate fan, circulates filtered air continuously throughout the entire refrigerator compartment, helping to effectively eliminate odors.

LG’s patented linear compressor is the heart of the Smart Cooling Plus system, which meets Energy Star standards thanks to its unique direct drive technology. LG gives 10-year warranty on linear compressor.

Large appliances for the kitchen

Fast cooling

The handy Blast Chiller allows you to chill a variety of drinks in a very short period of time – in just five minutes you can chill a 340-gram can of soft drink or beer.

Fast cooling is achieved by powerful airflow Jet Flow and swirling cooling Swirling Structure which lowers the temperature and distributes the cooled air throughout the refrigerator compartment. It was this innovative technology that won it the Best Innovation Award at CES 2012.

More convenience

The refrigerator’s versatile Four Compartment Crisper System provides easy access and more options for keeping fruits, vegetables and beverages in one of two humidity-controlled crisper drawers. The full-length, full-width removable tray shelf Glide-N-Serve and the extra drawer make it easier to prepare for guests.

In addition, the LG refrigerator is equipped with a tall 33 cm water and ice dispenser and dispenser device, which allows you to hold any container from a pitcher to a glass. The extra space accommodates glassware in many different shapes – high and low, wide and narrow.

LG has also made the freezer more convenient with the Smart Pull easy-open handle, a simple mechanism that allows you to open and close the door quickly and easily. Inside the chamber, order and product availability is ensured by a three-shelf system.

In addition to the convenience of everyday use, the refrigerator features Smart Diagnosis, which helps service staff quickly and efficiently identify mechanical problems over the phone, reducing costly and tedious technician home visits.

LG French-door refrigerator is distinguished by a number of modern and stylish design elements. Concealed hinges and beveled doors create a sleek and modern style to the refrigerator. LG has improved elements of the interior, LED lighting on the side walls and ceiling.

LG’s premium door-in-door and four-door models are also on display at CES. The French-door refrigerator with door-in-door has the same large capacity of 878 liters, but thanks to its additional option it provides better access to frequently needed products.

And each of the two freezer compartments of the LG French-door refrigerator on display has a separate door, which allows you to better place your food and take it out more conveniently. And thanks to the two drawers, frequently used food can be stored in the top drawer and less frequently used food in the bottom drawer.
