Dremel has created a comprehensive color coding system to help you categorize our accessories. It helps you to navigate through the brand’s product range.
In America the Dremel brand presents four lines of branded products: multifunction tools, compact tools, table tools and hobby line.
Dremel color coding system to classify the accessories
To help you easily understand the variety of products in this lineup, Dremel has created a versatile color coding system to classify our accessories. Different colored markers on tool packaging help to differentiate between the different product categories.
“By focusing on these signs the brand’s customers will add the necessary additional tools to their arsenal.”,
– says European Head of Product Development at Dremel, István Rážná.
The Dremel Colour Code System has six sections.
The yellow marker on the packaging indicates the bits are designed for cleaning and polishing applications. This category includes 21 different accessories.
The green marker tips are ideal for grinding, deburring, smoothing out rough edges and sharpening. There are 17 of these accessories on the Dremel. They are ideal for the DIYer who is used to working with ceramics, porcelain, plastic, glass, metal and stone.
39 “blue” nozzles are needed for engraving, carving and milling. Diamond and tungsten carbide bits, for example, are well worth using for this kind of work.
The accessories with purple stripes on the packages can be used for blasting different kinds of materials. These kits include 15 accessories. Recall that during machining an abrasive tool can remove a layer of material to a depth of a few millimeters to the nearest sub-micrometer.
The red marking on the package tells you that the bits are good for cutting. A total of 17 in the brand’s range. Finally, the grey category includes 9 different items with mixed functionality. These are drill bits, collets, holders, chucks.
To specific categories or functions is a bit confusing to me. Can someone clarify how the color coding system works and what each color represents?
