HUAWEI FreeLace headphones

At a presentation in Paris, HUAWEI unveiled HUAWEI FreeLace, new wireless headphones that combine progressive design, powerful sound and long-lasting performance. Connecting HUAWEI FreeLace to HUAWEI smartphones has become as simple and intuitive as possible. Disconnecting the right earpiece cable from the volume control panel opens the USB Type-C connector to connect to a smartphone using the HUAWEI HiPair feature. Supported by HUAWEI smartphones running EMUI 9.1 . This proprietary technology from HUAWEI eliminates the time-consuming process of pairing peripherals with smartphones via Bluetooth, which usually involves a discovery process and often requires several attempts to establish a wireless connection.

HUAWEI FreeLace can also be connected to the USB Type-C port of any smartphone, tablet or computer for quick recharging: five minutes of battery power will provide four hours of playback time. The headphones are equipped with a 120mAh battery and a 28nm Bluetooth chipset, which consumes 60% less power than its 40nm counterparts. When fully charged, HUAWEI FreeLace provides 18 hours of audio playback, 13 hours of talk time or 12 days of standby time when connected via Bluetooth .

Each headphone is equipped with a large 9.2mm diameter dynamic driver with ultra-thin TPU thermoplastic polyurethane diaphragm with titanium coating. It gives energetic bass and soft high sounds. The microphone module has a two-band design, which, unlike traditional headphones, has an additional channel for the passage of air, significantly reduces wind interference in the transmission of voice.

In addition to ease of use, high sound quality and striking design, HUAWEI FreeLace supports a number of features to ensure a comfortable user experience. A magnetic switch enhances the portability of the headphones, and a built-in sensor makes control as intuitive as possible: when you connect two earmolds, the headphones go into sleep mode, from which they automatically emerge when you separate the halves. Built-in controls not only provide volume control, but also allow a two-second press to activate the voice assistant, and a double tap to switch audio tracks.

Price and availability

HUAWEI FreeLace will go on sale in early April and will be available for 99 euros.
