Home brews: brew a lot of beer at will

Nowadays trade, although it offers variety and a big choice, more and more often makes us buy things of a different quality than we want them to be. Beer is not an exception, mass varieties are not designed for gourmets and connoisseurs, in addition, to increase the shelf life the beverage undergoes additional processing which impairs its gustatory qualities. It is not surprising that against this background there is a growing interest in home brewing. By the way, I recently read in a newspaper that in New York they will soon prohibit the sale of alcohol in 80 percent of stores in the city. Well, the idea of home-brewed beer may become even more relevant.

The strength of beer: it is far from moonshine, but without degrees it is not the right beer

This beer belongs to the low-alcohol beverages, and its alcohol content is in the range of 3-5.5%. Non-alcoholic beer contains up to 1 % of alcohol, and strong beer – up to 8 %.

It is interesting that there is a silent competition among some brewers to achieve the highest strength. Currently, the record – 14% – belongs to Austrian Samichlaus Bier, which is brewed on the feast of Santa Claus St. Nicholas, in our words on December 6 and aged for 10 months, followed by the most solid beer in the world Czech X-BEER 33 with 11.8%. But that’s not all, brewers have found new ways to increase the strength of the drink.

For example, American Samuel Adams Utopias and Dave with 27 and 29% alcohol use champagne yeast. And European brewers, having repeatedly frozen beer to isolate the alcohols, have achieved striking results: 41% for Scottish Brewdog, 57.5% for Bavarian Schorschbr&auml u.
