Hi-Fi reincarnation of computer music: Audioengine has created an audio converter for Mac and PC

Graphitech Distribution Company, New York ā€“ Audioengine announced the release of a major new product Audioengine D3 ā€“ a premium 24-bit converter of digital to analog signal DAC* . This product, which looks like an ordinary flash drive, has a molded aluminum body and ā€œcapturesā€ sound from a computer in a way that the result seems incredible.

Headphone Amplifiers

Audioengine D3 ā€œsqueezesā€ the most out of digital files, thanks to the ability to bypass the built-in sound card on your computer and transmit the sound directly into your headphones or audio system. The DAC does not require any additional software installation or customization and is simply plugged into the USB output of your computer.

(Windows, Linux and Mac OS supported

Powered directly from the USB bus and passed through two stages of regulation to ensure no effect on sound quality. Power supply located on a separate PCB, for added insulation and temperature control.

The D3 also has a built-in sampling rate LED that flashes blue when the audio frequency is above 48 kHz

Volume is controlled from the computerā€™s operating system and implemented in the D3 as a digital control over analog volume control.

The heart of the D3 is the DAC

AKM4396 with low noise and distortion and high fidelity. The AKM4396 allows

Process digital audio at any bit rate up to 24-bit and any sample rate up to 96 kHz.

As a headphone amplifier acts

LME49726 allowing the D3 to output as much as 2 volts

With a wide range of headphones, including headphones whose impedance is at 12 ohms.

D3 aluminum enclosure reflects traditional Audioengine design, and high quality components and sound quality ā€“ great sound at an affordable price.
