How not to get cold when choosing a heater – there are plenty of them

“BT”: Oil heaters, convectors, fan heaters, electric fireplaces – all these devices were invented to heat rooms. And still – what to choose?

d. Boldyrev, VES: The most correct choice for premises with central heating is modern bimetal and for private houses – aluminum radiator radiator . All other heating devices make sense only when stationary means of heating do not cope with their task, or in the case when the room is not provided for central heating at all.

k. Shevchenko, STE: Every heating appliance has a silver lining. The oil heater is a classic. Convector is the accuracy of the maintained temperature, invisibility, speed of heating. Heat-fan is directional heat. Hands are frozen – turn it on. One second – and you’re warming your hands, not waiting for the whole room to heat up. An electric fireplace is for those who want to get not only warm but also aesthetic pleasure.

ju. Khazarova, “Rusclimate”: Today electric convector is the most efficient, economical and safe heating device.

d. Zakharchuk, De’Longhi: Oil radiators are the most rational and justify the cost over the long term. They provide stable and quiet heating and continue to work even after they are switched off due to the long thermal inertia. Ideal for large rooms: living rooms, bedrooms, workshops, offices and other areas where you need to maintain a constant temperature.

r. Trenin, Scarlett: All of the above types of heaters differ from each other in terms of functionality, method of heating and design, which is also sometimes an important factor. Therefore, comparing the purpose of the room with the features of a particular heater, it is easy to come to a decision what kind of device you need.

Looking for a heater for permanent work in the living room

“BT”: What would you advise to choose for permanent work in the living room?

r. Trenin, Scarlett: For constant operation in the apartment, I would recommend choosing an electric fireplace, convector or oil radiator. If we talk about the electric fireplace, I would limit the range of suitable rooms to the large living room, primarily because of the size and the need for stationary installation.

d. Boldyrev, VES: We recommend paying close attention to the micathermic heaters, which are ideal for heating absolutely any room and have a number of undeniable advantages.

ju. Khazarova, “Rusclimate”: For the living room you can choose an electric fireplace. Variety of models created in the classical style or in the Hi-Tech style, will allow to pick up the device for any interior and use it as an element of a decor Thus electric fireplaces are capable to work as high-grade heaters, providing fast and uniform heating of a premise.

Let’s heat the children’s room, too. A than?

“BT”: Which heater would you advise to use for heating a child’s room?

k. Shevchenko, STE: For a child’s room, the most optimal is the heater that is not in it. Or rather, it is not visible, namely, a heated floor. Large radiating surface, low surface temperature 40 0C and as consequence no draughts, no possibility of burning oxygen, no reduction of natural humidity and no imbalance of negative and positive ions. That is, simply put, the most environmentally friendly heating system for a small person.

But, unfortunately, to make a warm floor in the nursery is not always possible. Therefore, you should choose a device with the lowest temperature of the heating element, such as a long-wave infrared heater.

They are now offered in a huge variety of configurations: from the most primitive designs such as “Good heat” to panels of glass or natural stone. The main thing, when choosing a system correctly which means by reading the instructions set up and install the device.

In addition, there are electric convectors designed specifically for children’s rooms and kindergartens. In these devices provides that the child could not get to the control of the device, not to burn, not to scratch and not to disassemble it. The only thing that can stop parents, perhaps, is the price, which is comparable to the price of a good stroller.

i. Senichkin, “BG”: For heating a child’s room we should choose a model, the front panel of which at full power is not heated up more than 43 – 45 degrees, which does not let you get burnt when you touch it.

ju. Khazarova, “Rusclimate”: You need convectors with a higher degree of safety, in which the control unit is closed by a special casing from free access, and the “parental control” eliminates any possibility of failure of the programmed mode of operation.

The heating element should be hidden behind the protective screen, which excludes penetration of any foreign objects inside the heater and their ignition. For greater safety, all edges of the heater should be rounded and securely attached to the wall.

What to do when the heating is off and the spring has gone back on??

“BT”: And what is reasonable to take for occasional work in the off-season?

k. Shevchenko, STE: The most common case that prompts to buy a heater: it is cold, and the heating has not yet turned on. The most efficient – the convector. Doesn’t make as much noise as a heat gun, heats quickly, has a huge resource, safe, practically “do not kill”. I mean – to break it, you have to try very hard.

i. Senichkin, “BG”: Both electric convector and electric fireplace may be suitable, it all depends on the design of the room and the area.

t. Galitskaya, Vitesse: Heaters will quickly warm up the air. These devices are very mobile, you can easily transport them, take them with you on vacation, they are easy to install. The most important disadvantage of the fan heater – noise. So it is definitely not suitable for permanent use.

Ice shower – canceled!

“BT”: And what is suitable for the bathroom?

k. Shevchenko, STE: For the bathroom, the most important thing that an electric device to heat it was rated at least IP 24. The number “4” means that the appliance can operate when exposed to splashing water. You can get this information from the sticker on each appliance. In terms of design it does not matter what kind of device it will be, it can be an electric towel warmer, convector or infrared panel heater.

t. Galitskaya, Vitesse: If you need to quickly warm a small room or you want to warm yourself, rather than heat the entire volume of a large room, use halogen and carbon fiber household heaters. These heaters differ only in the radiator material, but not in how they work. The principle of operation of these heaters is based on radiant heat. All energy from infrared heaters reaches the heated surface and people without loss, because the heat radiation is not absorbed by air.

d. Boldyrev, “VES: Many small heaters have a high degree of protection of all electrical elements of the heater from moisture, which allows you to use them without problems in rooms with high levels of humidity.

Heat for my cottage

“BT”: And what’s better to buy for the country house??

i. Senichkin, “BG”: Again, both electric convector and electric fireplace are suitable. The convector can heat the air in the room to a desired temperature, and the fireplace will create a cozy atmosphere.

k. Shevchenko, STE: If you have a lot of rooms, you need to understand how much electricity is installed in your house, what kind of wiring, whether the house is well insulated.

If everything is good with power and insulation, you should opt for electric convectors.

If a user comes to the cottage only for the weekend and is afraid to leave convectors for a week on, a heat gun will help, it works only for the rapid warming of the room. The room is heated up – turn on the electric convectors. They work quietly and safely.

r. Trenin, Scarlett: In modern convectors has a useful mode “antifreeze”, which in winter will even in the absence of the owners to maintain a minimum positive temperature in the house that, on the one hand, will not let the house freeze, but on the other – will not cause unnecessary power consumption.

ju. Khazarova, “Rusklimat”: An optimal option for heating several rooms simultaneously – convectors, enclosed in an electric heating system with a single programmer. Such a system requires no maintenance and professional supervision, easy to operate, fairly mobile and cost-effective, since it can save up to 30 percent of electricity.

You won’t connect to the left pole

k. Shevchenko, STE: The most important thing – to determine what you’re going to heat. If among the wood, diesel and gas you or for you choose electricity, prepare for the expense.

And do not count on not being able to pay or somehow “connect to the left. Recently in almost all regions of Ukraine there is a sharp increase in the control of payment collection and suppression of “left” connections.

At the moment, the most acceptable solution in the ratio of efficiency – eco-friendliness – simplicity are convectors. Especially if it is not one or two stand-alone convectors, and devices combined into a system with the ability to program the temperature, timing, on-off individually for each room.

Such a controllable smart electric heating system will save significantly on electricity bills.
