Fujifilm has recently introduced two new lenses, expanding the range of focal lengths that are available on the X-mount. New lens design includes 20 elements in 13 groups. These include four aspherical lenses to reduce spherical aberration and distortion, as well as six low-dispersion lenses and three ultra-low dispersion lenses to reduce lateral chromatic aberration. In addition, the lens contains a curvature field correction lens, which corrects based on the zoom position. The two front lens elements are also coated with Nano-GI to minimize glare and ghosting from diagonally incident light. Focusing lens is controlled by linear motors, ensuring fast, precise and silent autofocusing.
The lens bodies are not only lightweight, but also sturdy, with multiple seals to keep out moisture and dust. The lens is also capable of working in cold, withstanding temperatures down to -10 ° C. The teleconverter allows you to cover a focal length equivalent to 427 mm at an aperture of F2.8 and its optical structure has 7 elements in 4 groups, including 1 aspherical element.
The lens is constructed with 19 elements in 14 groups, including one ultra-low dispersion element and two large-diameter low dispersion lenses for chromatic aberration reduction. The large-diameter objective lenses have been polished using technology developed specially for telephoto lenses. High-precision polishing produces exceptional image clarity and beautiful bokeh effects. The production accuracy of this element is within 0.1&mu m. Fast autofocusing is possible due to the lightweight lens group and the use of linear motors.
The lens is equipped with an optical image stabilization system compensating up to five shutter speeds in accordance with CIPA requirements. Lens detects different shooting conditions e.g. panning or tripod shooting and automatically triggers the stabilization system for optimum image quality.
Focusing lens is controlled by linear motors, ensuring fast, quiet and high-precision autofocusing. The lens also features a new mechanism that locks the position of the focusing motor group when the camera is not in use, thus reducing any vibrations that occur when the magnets detach.
The lens barrel is made of magnesium alloy, which makes the lens both lightweight and durable. Seventeen sealing points ensure dust and moisture protection and freezeproof construction down to -10°C. An additional protective fluoride coating on the front lens prevents dirt and increases durability, and the matte silver paint the body is coated with reduces the risk of overheating in the hot sun. All this makes the lens suitable for professional photography in the harshest weather conditions.
