Fraud with air tickets grows rapidly

RealTicket data.rf show that the number of fraudulent airline ticketing resources increased by 39% in July. During this month, the service specialists identified 518 fraudulent sites for the sale of air tickets.

“Every month we analyze the activity of fraudsters in travel. Since April the number of fake sites has increased by almost 5 times. To be on the safe side, buy tickets only on trusted sites and don’t fall for fraudulent tricks. For example, the appearance of the page can be very similar to the well-known brand, but there can be problems in its address – often fraudsters add or remove some characters. Deputy Head of Roskatchestvo Anton Kukanov recommends: “To minimize the risk of encountering fraudsters, use only trusted airline ticket purchase sites, and never transfer money to a natural person on a bank card or e-wallet. Remember that during the high tourist season, scammers are cashing in on hotel reservations and car rentals as well. If you are going to Egypt, for example, make sure that the car rental or hotel booking company is listed on the official site of the Ministry of Tourism of that country.
