FiiO introduced a new portable Hi-Fi player X5 III X5 third generation , which plays audio in studio quality. More than a year and a half has already passed since the second version of X5 was released, and the new incarnation of the famous player has received significant differences from its predecessor.
Keeping up with the times, FiiO made the X5 III based on the popular Android OS version 5.1, however, significantly redesigned. The first part of the operating system software, which is responsible for audio processing, was subject to customization. As a result, FiiO developers got better sound and improved performance of the device as a whole, including the economical use of battery power.
Like the flagship FiiO X7, the new X5 series player can operate in two modes: Pure Music and Android. The first of them can only play music – no extraneous applications are run, so that the sound is as clear as possible. In Android mode, you can install and run any application for this OS. Therefore, this player satisfies the needs of audiophiles, as well as those who are interested in multifunctionality.
FiiO X5 III offers a whole range of wireless connectivity options. 2.4GHz Wi-Fi lets you listen to music from your favorite online services, aptX provides high-quality Bluetooth streaming, and DLNA support lets you use even more ways to connect wirelessly.
FiiO X5 III uses AK4490EN Dual DAC, one chip per channel. This is the latest 32-bit DAC supporting all PCM and DSD formats. It allows you to decode audio at a sampling rate unimaginable for portable players – up to 768 kHz.
FiiO X5 III delivers an impressive 300 mW of sound power for 32 ohms thanks to the unique audiophile chip OPA426. In addition to a 3.5mm output port, X5 III also has a balanced output for matching headphones. The gadget has 32GB of internal memory, and additional memory can be added by MicroSD cards with a maximum total capacity of 512GB the player has two slots for this type of card .
FiiO X5 III is equipped with a 3.8V 3,400mAh battery, which provides 10 hours of playback. Two charging modes – standard and fast with on-screen temperature control . Boosted mode connection lets you fully charge the battery in an hour and a half.
The FiiO X5 III pleasantly surprises by its versatility – it can be used in a wide range of conditions. With a special cable, the player can operate in a car in In-Vehicle mode. You can also connect the X5 III as a USB DAC to your computer. Finally, it is compatible with the FiiO K5 amplifier/dock station, which you can use to charge it up and connect to other devices.
