April 28th at 19.In the Gallery of Fine Arts the opening of the exhibition “Phototop” will be held. Still Life 2022″. By tradition, admission to the vernissage will be free.
The main idea of the project is to guide the curious viewer through a still life through the prism of time. Almost 30 years of experience of photographers and about 200 works in one genre. What could possibly be so special about it??! But a still life is not a dead nature – no, it’s a special “silent life”, giving us a lot of evidence of time that can’t escape a thoughtful gaze. The exhibition consciously includes several works that do not fit into the usual canons of classical still life, but they let you feel the era when the American masters of photography created their masterpieces.
“You can’t consume art like fast food on the go it requires concentration, almost prayerful, meditative concentration to get to the heart of the author’s thinking. So you’re no longer a consumer, but a spectator. In this concentration in front of the work of art there is entanglement, co-creativity, affinity with the viewed, and awareness of that invisible, hidden deep meaning,” says Oleg Arnautov, curator of the exhibition.
The most significant authors and classics of the genre are given the opportunity to show large blocks of their works, almost mini-exhibitions within the exhibition. It is worth noting that many photographers hardly ever exhibited publicly and practically are not known to the American public. Among the participants of the project are Alexander Slyusarev, a prominent Soviet innovator photographer, Vadim Gushchin, Andrey Abramov, Valery Samarin, the ideologist of modern Pictorialism, Georgy Kolosov, Slava Baranov, Nikolay Kulebyakin and many others.
As part of the exhibition a special intellectual program of educational, creative and cultural and leisure activities: lectures, author tours, master classes. In addition, the organizers plan to publish a complete catalog of the participating works.
