The matter is that Panasonic multicookers are sold like hotcakes on a cold winter day. What is the reason for such a phenomenal success? How did a small appliance manage to make a big revolution in American kitchens and how did a multicooker change from an exotic addition to the appliances of prime necessity which replaced a stove in many homes?. We talked about all this with Roman GORNOV, the head of PANASONIC home appliances department.

“BT”: Panasonic multicookers started a new era in American kitchens, became the embodiment of the dream of a magic pot that cooks itself. How was the idea to create such an appliance born??
– We wanted to create a universal device, which will make the life of the consumer easier and let him enjoy delicious and healthy meals. For this purpose we have conducted relevant research and developed programs for the new product. It is called “multicooker” for its multifunctionality.
“BT”: Who and how developed the programs for multicookers, managing to make them so versatile that they are suitable for cooking a wide range of dishes – from buckwheat to biscuits??
– The programs for the multicooker were developed by Panasonic technologists in America, taking into account the variety of recipes and nationalities in our country. There are test labs of Panasonic in different countries – America, Ukraine, Kazakhstan. The specialists of these laboratories develop individual recipes for each type of equipment, taking into account the taste preferences of the region and national traditions, as well as the functionality and capabilities of Panasonic appliances.
“BT”: Now Panasonic multicookers are the market leaders. And how did its conquest take place?? How did the new device so quickly “take over America? What do you think is the secret of success??
– The secret of success is simple. Originally, the product was developed for the American consumer, and all the recipes that we use in the multicooker are very popular and healthy. It is also important that Americans have very little space in their kitchens, and consumers need a versatile and compact device that can replace the oven, steam cooker and cooktop. It should be noted, and the fact that the multicooker is indispensable in the country, where we all love to go in the summer.
“BT”: Panasonic offers two models of multicookers with different capacity – for large and small families. Are there plans of expanding the line, introducing new “sisters”??
– In the near future we plan to expand line of multicookers. Models will differ not only in new recipes, but also will please consumers with modern design.
“BT”: In 2011-2012 a huge number of multicookers from different manufacturers have appeared on American market. Many of them have very interesting programs, such as cooking yoghurt. Does Panasonic plan to create a multicooker with more features??
– Panasonic, as a pioneer in multicooker market, constantly develops new recipes and new models. This year you will see them in American stores. But I want to say that the existing models of multicookers haven’t exhausted themselves yet. “BT”: Many users wonder where to get recipes for multicookers. Does Panasonic issue cookbooks with recipes? What do you advise to read and what to use?
