This function causes the temperature in the freezer to drop to -24 ⁰C to ensure that all vitamins and nutrients are retained. After 24 hours this function must be disabled and the temperature set to -18 ⁰C which allows frozen food to be stored safely for long periods of time. In case of power failure, the temperature in the freezer will not rise above -9 ⁰C for 17 hours, which, of course, will reduce the shelf life of the frozen food but not by much.
