The Olympics, the Crimea, sanctions, the rouble rate⊠There have been so many events lately, and the office CRT veteran just faded away. Urgently need to hang a new panel. As it turned out itâs much easier to find a replacement TV set than to find a mounting bracket for it on the office wall. Thanks to our partners from âDigital Systemsâ they offered us a choice of several variants of such devices.

All the ingenious things are easy if you give it a few dowels, a drill bit and a drill. TV can be added if desired.
At full height came the difficult task of choosing the right one. The first thing we had to figure out was how much weight to hang. It is one thing to strengthen 25 kg which is typical for 32 inches diagonal, and quite another to strengthen 50-60 kg of panels with diagonal from 46 inches and higher. We stopped on 25 kg for acceleration of process, but with a far sight: the fastener should have a margin of at least 45 kg, in case the panel on a course of life will think to increase the diagonal.
The second criterion you should definitely think about is the type of bracket. They come in tilt-and-turn, tilt-and-turn, rigidly fixed, and even with an accordion and telescopic support.
With curiosity I dipped into the price-list of âDigital Systemsâ â there, as âin Grandpa Jacobâs cake, there is a lot of good stuffâ. The price range is from a couple thousand to a dozen. So I had to spend some time deciding on the best way to hang the upgrade on the wall.
If you got a âbootâ in the office with a ledge or niche, a sliding out bracket can be an interesting feature. When not, I pushed the panel to the wall â and you can paint âbulletâ, that is, discuss future plans. And for a colorful presentation there is always a âpiano in the bushesâ, all you need is to pull out a self-propelled bracket.
Our office did not, however, have a âbootâ. I had to choose a mount out of three variants. The first one with a rigid fixation fell away at once, though it is the most powerful by weight â it can hold any panel even if you sit on it with your legs hanging down. However, rigid mounting puts strict restrictions on the height of the panel. The thing is that the ideal height of the TV on the wall is such that the middle of the screen is at eye level. But there is no way the eye level height will suit the panel in the meeting room: the panel has to broadcast over the heads for the whole creative audience to see it.
The second option, a pivoting one, fell away for the same reason. In a rectangular, right room there is not much room to rotate.
That leaves us with the third option: tilted or swivel-tilt. The first is cheaper and the second is useless and superfluous. So we choose the first one â inclined, in the form of wall bracket Digis DSM07-44T. A quick glance grasped the main thing: the panel can have a diagonal from 32 to 55 inches and weigh up to 40 kg, the tilt â up to 12 degrees, and, with a fixing mechanism and safety latch. Note, the 12 degree slant is a very important nuance, as the viewer line dashed must fall strictly perpendicular to the screen, otherwise all the colors will blur.
As it should be, we checked our choice of bracket with a glance at the wall. If the bracket can take 40 kg, the wall can not be weaker. We are very lucky with the office wall, itâs brick, you can hang even Chebarkul meteorite. But if the wall was gypsum plasterboard I would have to make a bearing ledge or install wooden bars on half of the wall..
So we have already done the hardest part. The choice is made. A suitable bracket was found and the choice was verified by the wall. Now all thatâs left is to start and finish. The Digis DSM07-44T tilt mount wonât take long to install. In fact, you only need to attach the wall plate to the wall.
The wall plate is a real load-bearing structure. Therefore, it is advisable to check the plate with an air bubble construction level. Everything in life has to be straight.
One drill, one core drill and four dowels plus self-tapping screws â thatâs almost all the work. Even without much skill on the four holes in the wall will take about five minutes. After marking the four targets with a cross, all thatâs left to do is not miss. If the panel is not very heavy â no more than 20 kg â it is enough to drill a couple of slots at the edge. It is recommended to use the second and third pair if the TV will gain weight in one and a half or two times. And be sure to drill each slot exactly in the middle. In this case, the load is evenly distributed by all the screws.
By the way, we should mention that there is a very important design nuance in this wall plate: the panel will not stick exactly to the wall due to the edge on the plate and there will be a gap between the wall and the TV screen which is necessary for natural ventilation and heat dissipation.
As they say the whole âfamilyâ together: the overlay plate, two brackets and all fasteners. If the plate is already pressed into the wall, it takes 5-10 seconds to attach the inclined brackets. Note that not only can the brackets slide as a unit to the left or right, which allows you to center the panel on the wall beautifully, but also to move apart with respect to each other, which makes the mounting system absolutely universal â it can adapt to any panel with any slope of the mounting holes. TV
is fastened to both brackets. Vertical slots give you more freedom of action: practically any good-looking model can fit here.
Trust, but verify. You can clearly see in these two pictures how the freshly hung panel will be fixed firmly on the wall. In the first one the latch is released and you can move the construction at will. And on the other side something clicked and the whole construction is reliably frozen on the wall you like.
And the last thing we need to finish. Each of these screws can be turned clockwise or anti-clockwise. In one case, you will rigidly fix the angle of inclination of the panel within the specified limits. And in the other case the panel itself will sag freely at the limit of 12 degrees.
So, what we have on the wall? Very simple and handy Digis DSM07-44T tilt bracket for a ridiculous amount of money and with instant delivery. A pity that LCD panel vendors werenât so quick. Wall trials are over, but the panel I ordered still hasnât arrivedâŠ
