RF mount – designed from the ground up

Created from the ground up, the EOS R system and usa mount bring the EOS heritage to life in an entirely new way. Canon’s new products are based on cutting-edge technology and end-user feedback, and provide photographers and operators with significant technological and creative groundwork for the future. The EOS R takes the best of EOS and offers even greater performance, reduced lens constraints, and unprecedented creative flexibility. Released in September 2018, the usa mount opens up groundbreaking new optical design possibilities – for example, allowing large optical elements to be placed as close as possible to the image sensor, reducing the path of light to its surface.

RF mount improves data transfer and power delivery between the lens and the camera body, and delivers the world’s fastest autofocus speeds among full-frame mirrorless cameras. A short back focus and wide body diameter 54mm enabled Canon’s optical engineers to create a new generation of lenses that strike the perfect balance between reduced system size, high image quality and outstanding performance. In designing the EOS R system, Canon engineers focused on ease of use and further expanding the lens portfolio. This new lineup of lenses has the right tool for everything from stills to video, from landscape to wedding photography.

I’m glad to hear that Canon is expanding its lens offerings for the EOS R system by releasing six new lenses. As a photography enthusiast, I’m curious about the specifics of these lenses. Could you provide more information on their features, focal lengths, and intended usage? Additionally, will these lenses be compatible with existing Canon cameras, or are they exclusively designed for the EOS R system? Thank you!
