New York, America, January 31, 2013. Canon today announces an update to the revolutionary EOS-1D C. The updates take feedback from European video production professionals into account, adding support for 25p recording at the cameraās maximum resolution of 4K.
Designed for broadcast, film and high-definition digital video production, the EOS-1D C is the worldās first 4K digital camera.
It offers unique capabilities in the most portable design, optimized for the highest quality recording, superior low-light performance and a dynamic range comparable to that of film, while the handy compact body is designed for use in a wide range of situations.
The EOS 1D-C records 4K 4096 x 2160 video with 8-bit MJPEG compression and outputs uncompressed Full HD 1920 x 1080 YCbCr 4:2:2 video simultaneously to an external recorder via HDMI connection. Also supports direct recording of Full HD movies on CF cards at up to 60fps at 1080p.
In addition, Canonās Log Gamma function offers a wide dynamic range, giving professional cameramen unprecedented freedom in shooting and colourists unprecedented freedom in post-production.
Update will be available in April 2013.
Can someone please clarify if the Canon EOS-1D C DSLR is still the worldās first 4K digital camera or if there have been newer models since its release? Iām considering investing in a camera, and I want to ensure Iām getting the latest technology available. Thank you!
