Candy – tomorrow, today, yesterday

Imagine sitting in your room, while in the kitchen a cake is baked in the oven. You need to check how it is, but you don’t go to the kitchen: you can see all the information about the oven operation – temperature, time, pie image – on your computer screen. One click and the oven is off. Fantastic? No, this will soon be a reality for those who own a Candy, which will be able to be controlled using a normal computer, tablet or smartphone. What’s more, you’ll be able to get cooking recipes tailored exactly to your oven, because Candy appliances are sold in more than 100 countries all over the world and all owners of new appliances will automatically become members of the Candy online community. The company’s engineers plan to show a pilot version of the system already in April 2014 in Milan at the Eurocucina exhibition. Last year it already had an oven that could obey voice commands and gestures.

How it all began

It is no coincidence that Candy presents all of its interesting new products in Milan. This city is its birthplace and is where the Candy factory is located near Milan: the first, but by no means the only one. It opened in 1961, and a little earlier, in 1957, the first semi-automatic washing machine was introduced. The very first machine, named after the popular song “Candy” by its creator, was introduced in 1945.

Who remembers this song today?? And Candy appliances are renowned in many countries. The company, which, by the way, is still a family business, has successfully developed and managed to acquire many respected and well-known factories and brands: for example, British brand Hoover is over 100 years old and French brand Rosieres – more than 170, and they are part of the Candy Group.

In addition, Candy Group owns brands and companies SUSLER Turkey , IBERNA Spain , JINLING China and others. A total of 50 sales offices are open all over the world 33 of them in Europe . It is estimated that Candy appliances are known and available to 60% of the world’s population.

Candy came to America 20 years ago and made a splash with their quality automatic washing machines of reduced depth, which were sold at prices affordable for American families with average income. Candy machines have been the queen of our bathrooms – and many homes still have those first Candy washing machines. By the way in 2013 the company Candy plans to present to Americans a washing machine 44 cm deep with the ability to load up to 8 kg of clothes.

But today the company produces and sells not only appliances for washing: its range includes ovens and refrigerators, wine cabinets and dishwashers, hoods and microwave ovens, ovens and hobs. Among the many models there are truly unique products.

For example, the DUO combi unit, a two-in-one appliance, is ideal for small kitchens: a 39-litre multifunctional oven and a dishwasher with six loads of dishes. This appliance is in such great demand that “gray” appliances are on sale. The official website of the company has a list of stores that sell this DUO, it is recommended to check with it in order not to buy a device that is not adapted to America.

The big in the small

This year the range of built-in appliances has been significantly updated.

Candy offers American families a really roomy Frr 629XL oven with a working volume of 78 liters and a total volume of 83 liters. The dimensions of the cabinet have not changed: they are standard, which means that the cabinet can easily fit in the place of the old, smaller oven.

The FPP 629 XL has 5 levels. Thanks to the Vario Fan system, the fan, located in the back of the oven, changes speed automatically according to the cooking temperature. Soft Cook system reduces the loss of moisture in food by up to 50%, which gives a soft and flavorful dishes. Perforated trays on the sides allow air to circulate freely throughout the oven, even while cooking on all five levels at the same time.

Several versions of this model are available to suit everyone: with different control panels, handles and color. Indicative retail price of the model 14 990 Dollars., t.e. This oven is designed for mass use. Energy Class A-20% – because it’s a European product and they won’t buy an appliance that isn’t energy efficient.

For lovers of novelty and antiquity

Another pride of the company is the oven with two cooking zones, which are divided by a special reliable thermal insulation panel that allows you to cook two dishes simultaneously in different modes at different temperatures. Four heating elements, including two ring heaters on the rear wall.

In the range you will also find classic retro-fashioned ovens FCL 614 GH Blued Steel , FCL 614/1 AV Oat and FCL 614/1 BA Antique Beige beloved by Americans. Large switches and an analog programmer create a feeling of peace of mind. But the ovens come with modern and convenient features, such as an automatic timed shut-off. FCL 624 BA and 624 GH models in beige and black have telescopic rails.

When it comes to cooktops, the new range includes the CFID 36, an induction cooktop with four cooking zones – two of which can be combined into a single zone thanks to the so-called “Flexy zone”.

By the way, Candy will be introducing an induction cooktop with color coded cooking modes: the hue of the lighting is as easy to tell which power zone is on, as when you look at the gas burner. This will make it easier to use induction cookers, because many people are uncomfortable with the fact that the panel does not show their work in any way.

Among the gas stove hobs, the PV 750 SN/1 model must be mentioned, equipped with a burner with four flame rows “Four Crown” . That lets you cook even faster, such as in a wok. And it boils water much faster than a three-zone burner.

There are several “gas on glass” models and a white version of the PV 640 SW hob which is rarely seen.

Lovers of good wine can buy a special refrigerator cabinet to store it. The difference from the models available on the market is the small volume of the device itself, for which it will be easy to find space and a small number of bottles of wine that can be kept there.
