The Radiance series is the most advanced series in the Acoustic Energy lineup for home cinema. This loudspeaker design incorporates all the experience of many years of this popular brand. Moreover, additional attention was paid to design, the appearance is designed not only not to spoil, but even to decorate the most sophisticated interiors.

The cabinet uses a natural veneer that adds aristocratism to the product. Of course, a home theater cannot do without subwoofer and active subwoofer is present in the set, designed just as perfectly.

In accordance with the appearance, the design of the device corresponds to the classical canons. Closed enclosure is massive enough to withstand the vibrations generated by the powerful 220mm woofer. Built-in amplifier for 200W is a necessary minimum for a cone of this size.

There is an automatic power control system, which turns off the subwoofer if you don’t use it for a long time. In short, the device complies with Plug & Play philosophy, no special knowledge is required for its connection and the procedure takes a couple of minutes.

The combination of not the most powerful amplifier and a large speaker caused some concerns at first, but the Radiance Sub successfully dispelled them. Of course, it would be naive to expect it to plunge into the depths of infrasound. Nevertheless, the subwoofer was gentlemanly about the sound material. No significant distortion was noticed, the bass is not deep, but it is clear and comfortable. Not everyone likes the eardrum pressure generated by some of its more vigorous brethren.

In a word, the most grateful audience will be people who are quietly relating to special effects, not indifferent to their nervous system and the health of their neighbors. Where it’s needed, the drama will be emphasised. Enjoys a punchy but punchy sound. Avoid too wide and overdistorted by too much furniture, where you might lose your hearing aid.

By the way, if you stack the Radiance 3 for floor-standing speakers, a significant part of the bass band can be left to them. These speakers are capable of setting hairs on your neck on their own.

It sounded soft but articulate and understandable. It conveys the bass guitar better than the big drum – I think experienced listeners will immediately understand what I mean. Bass timbre is reproduced faithfully enough though it should be noted that as the timbre is formed not in the bass zone, the merit in the correct transfer of the timbre of bass instruments belongs not only to subwoofer. .
