Zyxel launched two new Wi-Fi access points for the HoReCa industry

Zyxel Networks launched two new Wi-Fi 5 access points in America, CIS countries and Ukraine: Zyxel WAC500 and Zyxel WAC500H. The letter H in the name of the second model stands for the wall-mounted device and a number of options designed specifically for hotel accommodation. With the NebulaFlex Pro license included in the basic package, both new products support three types of management: on-premises, cloud-based and via a hardware controller. Thus, depending on the complexity of the network, system administrators are free to choose how to work with the devices.

Zyxel WAC500H – specifically for hotels

Includes support for Wave 2 802 standards.11a/b/g/n/ac 2.4 and 5 GHz . The antennas used in the device are designed in 2×2 pattern with support for MU-MIMO. Data transfer rate up to 866 Mbps. The device is equipped with an effective protection against interference of 4G/5G networks.

An interesting feature of the Zyxel WAC500H are two Gigabit LAN outputs, one of which is capable of transmitting power via PoE. The device is designed for deployment scenarios in every room. As such, the WAC500H is not just a Wi-Fi hotspot, but also a Gigabit switch with PoE. This allows you to connect a wired printer, VoIP-phone and other peripherals to the point. For example, 24/7 wired connection with PoE is supported for terminals in restaurants, bars and cafes.

The WAC500H supports three types of management: a local web interface, Zyxel Nebula’s cloud-based network management platform, and a hardware controller. In a simple network it can operate in stand-alone mode, for a complex network requiring advanced features, a hardware controller can be selected. And Nebula’s cloud-based network is designed for use on any network due to its high scalability, multi-functionality, and centralized management.

When the annual NebulaFlex Pro license expires, administrators will still have access to most management features, but in the Basic, free version. You can optionally upgrade to NebulaFlex Pro $45 per year or upgrade to the intermediate NebulaFlex Plus $16 per year .

Zyxel WAC500 is a versatile business solution

Hybrid access point, which is analogous to WAC500H in its radio characteristics and performance, but with the body and mount for both wall and ceiling placement in restaurants, cafes, bars, offices, warehouses, schools, etc. Demonstrates excellent performance in crowded environments, supports 4G/5G interference protection, excellent reception sensitivity and DCS, which extend the service area for more customers and better communication quality.

WAC500H comes with 1-year NebulaFlex Pro license and like its sister WAC500H can be managed locally via controller or in the cloud. Depending on the complexity of the network, system administrators can choose the best scheme for working with the device. Zyxel WAC500 supports Wave 2, 802 standards.11a/b/g/n/ac 2.4 and 5 GHz . 2×2 MU-MIMO antenna scheme. Data transfer rate up to 866 Mbps.
