1. Clematis is one of the most beautiful climbing plants. It has several advantages that make it even more attractive. Clematis come in different shades: Red, pink, purple and blue as well as neutral white. This allows you to successfully combine brightly-colored flowers with other plants on your balcony. They also grow very fast and if they are to enjoy their flowers for as long as possible, from June to September, they need plenty of water, but not too much.

2. Honeysuckle is a vigorous and evergreen plant that constantly attracts admiring glances. But donā€™t be jealous of it, because you can easily grow this variety in the bathroom on the balcony. Honeysuckle grows beautifully there even in winter, provided the windows face east or west.

3.Common ivy is a fast-growing classic on any balcony or wall, which it adorns with its green ā€œdressingā€ of leaves. There is a good reason why it is so popular: Ivy is particularly easy to care for. But you have to be careful, because this attractive and hardy plant has a life of its own if you do not cut it back properly. In particular, if it has been decorating a balcony for several years without being pruned, it becomes wild, and in the worst case, it can damage the facade.

GARDENAā€™s ā€œHome Gardening Toolkitā€, specially designed for home use, helps you to accurately prune not only ivy plants but also other plants on your balcony. It consists of pruning shears, a planting spatula, gardening gloves to keep things clean and a multi-function jug with a pointed edge for watering and digging.

4. The tunbergia, or as itā€™s also called, the black-eyed Susan, streaks upward like a snake with its beautiful flowers in a counterclockwise direction. This flower will add joy to your balcony thanks to its yellow, orange or brown-orange petals. Susanā€™s black eyes feel right at home in a warm and sunny spot that should be protected from wind and rain. This attractive plant will grow to a height of up to two meters, if taken care of properly and allowed to overwinter indoors.

5. Pipe blooms add a touch of exotic charm to balconies. The flower of this plant looks like a funnel, which gives its appearance a special effect. If a trumpet flower is placed in a sunny, warm place protected from the wind, it becomes a strongly climbing plant that needs a support. For it to flower beautifully every year, it needs to be protected during the colder months.

6. The highlander flower is also known as ā€œbridal veilā€ or ā€œarchitectā€™s comfortā€ and comes from China. Its heart-shaped green leaves, which are pale yellow in fall, look very nice on the balcony. From July to October it also delights in white metelike sprigs which give it a romantic appearance.

7. Blue passion flower ā€“ another attractive plant with an exotic appearance. It is necessary to place the perennial in a bright and sunny place in order to enjoy its abundant flowering for a long time. The little beauty needs help to climb, because it can grow to several meters in height. Although the passion flower is very frost-resistant, you need to keep it above freezing in winter.
