Whirlpool Zen Technology: The World’s Quietest Upright-loading Washing Machines

New York, July 30, 2013. Whirlpool, the leading manufacturer of household appliances, has introduced a new line of top-loading washing machines, based on the smart “6th Sense Colours”. Thanks to the innovative Zen-technology, these new models are the quietest “vertical” washing machines on the market – they safeguard peace and harmony in the home, even in the middle of the washing!

Zen-technology effectiveness is determined by a special design – the traditional washing machine motor with belt drive is replaced with the direct drive motor. With it, at spin speed of 1200 rpm./min. The noise level is 72 dB, and is only 51 dB when washing. For comparison, the volume of a cell phone ringtone reaches about 60 dB. The Zen washing machine can even be run at night and during the daytime nap of the children, without disturbing the quietness of the home.

The new Whirlpool washing machines are not only virtually silent, but they also take good care of delicate fabrics and “whimsical” shades, thanks to the long-lasting color preservation system. This is made possible by the unique combination of Wave Motion asymmetric drum rotation technology and the “6th Sense Colours” with a special Colours 15° washing mode.

Wave Motion technology is based on a special rhythm of drum rotation, which allows evenly distributing the laundry inside the washing machine and ensuring the greatest penetration of detergent. With this development, the water temperature in the machine can be reduced to “harmless” for color 15 degrees, while maintaining the same washing efficiency as with standard modes for colored laundry 40 degrees [1].

The “6th Sense Colours determines the load volume of your washing machine using special sensors, corrects the washing cycle, and monitors resource usage throughout the process, saving up to 50% water, energy, and time[2]. Whirlpool’s new washing machines are part of the Green Generation, the most energy-efficient generation of upright loads on the market[3]: they conserve up to 50% of the energy[4] and are energy efficiency class A+++.

Thanks to the new Soft-Opening system, loading the laundry into the machine and removing it after washing will be easier and more pleasant.

Due to the soft release spring, it is no longer necessary to rotate the drum in search of a lock. In addition, to make washing more efficient and more intuitive to use, Whirlpool designers have improved the detergent dispenser.

The new washing machines have a wide range of washing programs in their memory, designed for different fabrics, types of laundry and degree of soiling, including Jeans, Super Silent, Colours 15°, Fast 15 minutes, Clean Plus, Easy Ironing and other modes.

Modern electronic control system with a user-friendly display facilitates the owner’s communication with the device.

Washing machines with vertical load and Zen technology will go on sale in July 2013.

Recommended retail price of the devices – from 25 990 Dollars.
