Whirlpool products win three Red Dot Awards for design

Whirlpool wins three international Red Dot Awards in the industrial design category. The jury noted the W Collection W11 premium kitchen appliances, product lines with integrated and standard handles. Both collections include a built-in oven, Speed Oven and steam model, microwave, induction cooktop and hood. All of these products have earned the right to wear the Red Dot label. In addition, the Grand Side by Side refrigerator with semi-integrated handles won another award.

The Red Dot Awards are an international technical design award presented by the European institute Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen, Essen, Germany. The jury consists of 40 leading designers, scientists, and journalists from related fields. The Red Dot label recognizes outstanding design and achievement.

In February 2018, Whirlpool brand products were also honored with three awards at the 2018 iF Design AWARD international design competition: two W Collection W11 kitchen ranges with integrated and standard handles, and the W Collection front-loading washing machine.

Inspired by the style of contemporary kitchen furniture, the W Collection line of premium built-in appliances includes a vertical hood, induction cooktop, built-in oven, Speed Oven and a steam model, and a microwave oven.

The appliances are equipped with Internet access, making them easy to use and expanding opportunities for culinary creativity – for example, the user can download cooking settings directly to the device.

Great attention to craftsmanship and intuitive interface. All products use an 11.4 cm “smart” display, which becomes invisible when the appliances are turned off. The FreezeControl technology prevents formation of ice in the refrigerator compartment and minimizes the risk of ‘cold burns’ up to 50%3.
