You need: 1 kg of potatoes, 1 teaspoon each of salt and pepper, a clove of garlic, 300g of grated Gruyerc or Emmental cheese, 3 eggs, 250 ml of milk, 4 tablespoons of cream, 1 tbsp. l. thyme, 3 tbsp. l. butter.
Preparation: peel potatoes, cut into thin slices, dry, salt and pepper.
Spread half of the potatoes slices on greased ovenproof dish with a little grated cheese on top. Layer the rest of the potatoes on top and sprinkle with the remaining cheese.
Crush garlic clove and mix together with eggs, milk, cream and thyme. Salt the mixture and pour over the potatoes.
Sprinkle the casserole with butter flakes.
Steam add about 200 ml of water for 45-50 minutes.
